Congestion Pricing in New York City wasn't a slam dunk.
It was a big fight to advance, and took decades.
Today, a year later, congestion is down.
Foot traffic is up.
Storefront vacancies are lower.
Spending in shops and restaurants has gone up.
Pollution is down significantly.
And the city has a revenue stream for investing in transit.
Toronto, our city does not need to be a congested, noisy, polluted mess.
A liveable city where children and seniors are safe, and where walking down the street doesn't feel like a risk to your life, is worth fighting for.

There was also a 71% drop in air pollution.

In the shadow of Trump and MBS's meeting, a new normal is returning to the Middle East. There's a ceasefire in Gaza, "but the fire didn't stop, not even for a moment," Yuli Novak, @btselem's ED told me. “The West Bank is completely controlled by Israel,” she added. “What we see in the past two years is that each and every Palestinian in the West Bank is exposed to violence that has basically no limit.”

Remember, Paris wasn’t “always this way.”
It wasn’t even this way in 2019 just before the Pandemic.
Just a few years ago, #Paris was choking in car traffic much more.
This is new. This is leadership.
Cities are a result of choices.
