@eugyppius1 Iran hasn't launched too many ballistic missiles at the UAE or Israel lately, so that's a nice part of the ceasefire deal.

So, US has agreed indefinitely not to airstrike Iran and in return Iran agrees to nothing and both of them are presently blocking the Holy Hormuz and this is how the US wins.

Remember when Trump said he "PROHIBITED" Israel from bombing Lebanon, only for Israel to laugh at him and bomb Lebanon the next day? That was about 10 days ago. Trump's only response was to post a Truth Social about how Israel is a wonderful ally and great country. Israel now:

🚨Just In: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered the IDF to “strike Hezbollah targets in Lebanon with force,” according to various Israeli media (N12, Times of Israel), which cited a statement from his office.

@ggreenwald You think ~$5bn in hidden / underreported Iranian missile damage to regional U.S. bases is a material adverse event, next to a $1,000bn annual military budget? You are a joke.

Anyone who gets their news about the Iran War from sources outisde of the Fox/neocon sewer of Sean Hannity and Ben Shapiro already knows that Iran absolutely pummeled US bases in multiple countries. This new reporting shows billions of dollars worth of damage, and even cites a study from the neocon AEI for support. If you talk to any trustworthy US officials, they'll give you the real story about the war: not just that Iran inflicted far more damage than known and that the US Govt hid it (including the number and severity of US casualties), but also that -- as happened in the last war with Iran in 2025 -- both the US and Israel (and now the Persian Gulf dictatorships) are very low on munitions and especially anti-missile defense systems:
Amerikanets 📉@ripplebrain

NBC confirms for the first time what many of us already suspected or knew: the Iranian Air Force bombed US bases in the opening phase of the war.

@CoastAvoca314 @RichardHanania Good for you. My neighbors in a Blue County in a Blue State spent a whole lot of time masking alone indoors and other such nonsense. Drove me mad enough to go back to Florida for long stretches. Lots of running on the beach and dining out in restaurants. No mountains, though.

@NBKatz2 @RichardHanania Did you spend all of COVID in your basement listening to online maga slop telling you that you couldn't leave your home? I spent COVID running on the beach each day and hiking a new mountain every month. Sorry your strange maga media ruined your life.

MAHA morons are killing people. Measles went from 70 cases a year to 1,700 this year just so far. Other diseases are coming. They're threatening the health of newborns. Anti-vaxxers are a public health hazard.

@CoastAvoca314 @RichardHanania Short answer: yes. You give your kids the shots you want to give them, and I'll do the same for mine. You want to repeat the joys of Blue State COVID and lock your kids in the basement until you feel safe to come out, go ahead. I'll be outside in the Florida sunshine with mine.

@every1isboring @RichardHanania Yes, measles is nasty. Yes, it *might* kill your kid. Get the shot if you want - it might do you or your kid some good. But stay out of my and my kids' personal business.

@every1isboring @RichardHanania Buddy, I'm older than that. I survived my schoolboy years - before the 1990s & when nobody came in with 2 measles shots - because measles is unpleasant but not nearly as scary as fearmongers like @RichardHanania like to put on.

@Rule3O3 SF service is like a relatively low paid residency or fellowship in medicine - advanced training for a lucrative career that happens to come with a stipend. Lots of SF bros make $$$$ after leaving service by going into in bodyguard / security and mercenary ("contractor") work.

Britain could lose the Falklands because of weak leadership. It's not the 80s anymore, there's no Thatcher in charge and the UK is a depressing shell of its former self. If Argentina simply walks in and takes over, possibly soon with Trump's approval, what exactly will Keir Starmer do? Send an angry worded letter? Would he even care at all?

It is becoming clear how so many people who appear to have no business skills and a noticeable lack of intelligence are driving around in Mercedes and own vacation homes. The working people in our country that work hard and output real economic activity, have been paying taxes to create fake jobs for millions of these low talent lazy liberals. There are millions more still in our government or in government funded organizations.

@RossBarkan I just did a thread on this. Florida hitched its cart to retirees and tourism and failed to diversify its economy. It's a great state for wealthy people but it is facing stagnation unless it makes serious policy changes. x.com/CXCarroll/stat…
CXCarroll@CXCarroll

Florida's economy is not particularly dynamic. It relies heavily on tourism and retiree migration and this has been the case for a long time. Florida's economy has only grown with its population and has not changed composition much in the last 20 years.

Florida's population surpassed NY's over 10 years ago, but pointy-headed Communist New York "intellectuals" never got the memo. Florida is awesome and tries hard every day to get better, while New York trips over itself to ruin what remains from better times.
Ross Barkan@RossBarkan

Florida "worked" because it was cheap. But if it's not cheap, and you're not somewhere like Miami or Sarasota (great cities, no hate), it's just not worth it for a lot of people. Very rough summers, hurricanes, and only getting worse.

@RossBarkan Life-long head-up-butt Communist New Yorker thinks he understands Florida... because... he visited his retired grandma in Boca a few times as a kid? Florida works because it's awesome. Pointy-head probably doesn't even know that Fla's population surpassed NY's 10+ years ago.

@notabotRachel @yimbyism @Blacknatwatch @IamSean90 Putting as much health care as possible on a competitive first person payment model would be a huge help (you pay for what you want to consume - like at any restaurant or grocery store) but our system has for the most part steadily evolved away from that.

@notabotRachel @yimbyism @Blacknatwatch @IamSean90 Yes, it's far from perfect. This is an inherent problem in all 3rd party payer systems - gov't or private. Consumer would rather eat filet mignon than meatloaf, if he isn't paying the bill; payer would rather choose meatloaf even if it's wildly inappropriate.
