@CallMeMoprah Our school, after soliciting feedback from families, does a weekly newsletter with questions families can ask their students at home and a home connection/an activity that can be engaged in together related to current content.

Do I know any teachers who have successfully done a weekly newsletter home to families/guardians? I’m sure I could figure out, but I’d like to crowdsource ideas on what you highlight, formats, etc. Thanks!

Teaching is hard. There was a lot of good news in this update. A longer Thanksgiving break announcement gave me (and my two elementary kiddos) life today.

Whatever happens in Georgia, everyone should get on their knees and thank strong Black women like the fearless @staceyabrams and so many who slog away without appreciation—and then we should pass real policies that benefit them. This all may come down to Georgia & Arizona.

Just saw a list of rules for students during at-home learning. It said students had to be wearing shoes. There is no emoji that can adequately capture how INSANE this is. Hey grown-ups? You're making a challenging thing so much worse with crap like this. Stop.

THIS is why I always start my virtual lessons with a checking-in activity. How they feel matters. Students NEED a space & the time to share what’s going on in their lives. — Can’t get to the mind if you don’t reach the heart FISRT! #SEL ♥️ ========>> 🧠
