@NorthantsCCC A pity. Umps had done well today in the face of excessive, pre-orchestrated appealing by Lancs for anything that hit the pad or might've been adjudged a leg-side strangle. Though to be fair the visitors did tone it down after @zaib_05 made his "you're better than that" remark.

Is there a more underrated T20 player than Saif Zaib? Averages 30 and has a strike rate of 148 since 2022 as a left hander batting 4/5 V seam: Ave 22 SR 151 V spin: Ave 52 SR 145 Also bowls left arm spin & is a quality fielder. Baffles me he doesn’t get picked in major leagues

Dismissal from Thrapston v Northampton Saints today, out or not out?

Very low attendance at Wantage Road yesterday. Gate price has ranged from £28 to £34(!) this blast and people have voted with their feet it seems. Scandalous greedy pricing model and the club need to address it ahead of next season.

This is ultimate rain day for all NCL clubs. No temptation to hang around, early shake hands and nice long session 🍺before the footy🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

@Daylio1970 @official_NCL No just a one off for the first week to allow grounds another week to recover. Similar to what numerous leagues around the country have done

@NCLmoan @official_NCL What happens if it rains 2nd week in May, 3rd week in June, 1st week in July and 2 weeks in Aug, do you put all those games back and play into October? The dates are the fixtures it's tough. It could be sunny in Northampton and rain in Kettering so do you play those games again

So if the forecast for Saturday looks the same come Thursday/friday is there a plan @official_NCL to move this round of fixtures to the last week in September?

@MangleJoe @official_NCL The shared sports field issue was the only drawback of moving to last week in September. Ways around that could be that a lot of the lower divisions finish early in September so could potentially use a neutral ground for those who can’t use their home. 6 months to plan etc

@NCLmoan @official_NCL from my clubs point off view we only have 10% chance off playing saturday as it is , but we also only get the ground untill a certin time being a sportsfield ! doesnt seem to be a easy win? unless you could maybe use one off the bank holidays in may ?

Interesting that this was raised at a meeting and no plan B put in place. Majority of pre season friendlies were called off this last weekend because the grounds just aren’t fit currently. More rain this week isn’t going to improve matters.
