The NCR Incident Management Team hosted a New Member Orientation today. This year, we've welcomed 18 new members, including two from a new federal partner agency, strengthening our regional all-hazards response capabilities. #NCRIMT

Today, team members attended NTSB Investigator Training, learning about aviation accident investigations, family assistance, aircraft recovery, and multi-agency response through case studies including Asiana Flight 214 and the DCA midair collision.

Congratulations to our NCR Incident Management Team members who were awarded their credentials today! These team members have completed extensive training, gained practical experience, and proven their ability to perform the role during emergencies and disasters. #NCRIMT

Hurricane season is here, and the NCR Incident Management Team is ready. Since 2005, our team has deployed 16 times to support communities impacted by hurricanes and tropical storms.

Members of the NCR IMT attended the 2026 Community Based Emergency Response Series, strengthening regional coordination and preparedness for mass care incidents.

Several IMT members participated in the Logistics Section Chief (LSC) course, with four members serving as instructors. Students learned how logistics supports incident response through communications, supply, facilities, medical, food, security, and ground support operations.

Our IMT members are building and sharing their expertise through the Logistics Section Chief course this week. We’re proud to have team members serving as instructors while others participate as students to expand their incident management knowledge and capabilities. #NCRIMT

Another great Quarterly IMT meeting today with discussions on Alaska lessons learned, FEMA IMAT coordination, Fairfax LODDs, SAREX, and air operations. Thanks to all presenters for sharing their expertise and strengthening preparedness efforts. #NCRIMT

The NCR-IMT was proud to support the MDEM credentialing exercise at the State EOC, filling roles as an Operations Section Chief, Deputy Logistics Section Chief, Liaison Officer, and a Logistics Section evaluator.

Exciting news 🚨 The NCR Incident Management Team has won the American Heroes IMT Card Contest! 🏆 Our team will be featured as a collectible card deck used in disaster wargames and training—highlighting real IMT roles and experience.

At the NCR IMT quarterly meeting, team members learned more about Family Assistance Operations, heard lessons learned from past events like the Marine Corps Marathon and Occoquan Fall Festival, and discussed future planning and trainings to strengthen our team’s readiness.

IMT member Robert Fass presented at the IMTA Conference on using the Search and Rescue Common Operating Platform (SARCOP) to support Incident Management Teams. The session highlighted real-world use and how shared field data strengthens decision-making across incidents.

Last night, Ben Coffman, Nick Feliciano, Perry Bryant, and Scott Bragunier were honored as Unsung Heroes for their response to the American Airlines Flight 5342 crash one year ago. Over 20 NCR IMT members supported this Type I incident across Command, Planning, and Logistics.

As 2025 comes to a close, we’re proud of what our team accomplished. From the DCA aircraft incident and Presidential Inauguration to deployments in Alaska, we answered the call—and strengthened readiness through training and qualifications for what comes next.

We’re proud to share the NCR IMT was honored with the Aero Club of Washington’s Person of the Year Award for their role in the Reagan National Airport mid-air collision response. Over 20 team members supported the multi-agency effort alongside first responders and the NTSB.

The NCR IMT is grateful today—and every day—for our dedicated members and all those working to keep our communities safe. Thank you for everything you do to support our region.

The NCR IMT team is home! After a few weeks of supporting Typhoon Halong in Alaska, our members have safely returned. We’re grateful for their hard work and dedication. Welcome back!
