The careless decision to reduce our force posture in Europe, along with moves by Pete Hegseth and his political henchmen to force out some of our finest general officers is amateur hour at best and deadly at worst. Hegseth continues to surprise and disrespect our greatest allies and some of our best military professionals with impulsive decisions not grounded in reality or good judgment. If the rumors are true that Hegseth is trying to sideline General Chris Donahue, one of our nation’s finest warfighters, by downgrading U.S. Army Europe-Africa to a 3-star command, he is taking another step down a dangerous path. A step that is not in the best interests of our nation or our servicemembers. General Donahue has dedicated his entire career to upholding the high standards and warrior ethos that Hegseth claims he is restoring to our ranks. Gen. Donahue has led Soldiers at all levels in Airborne (including Ft. Bragg’s 82nd) and Mechanized units, the 75th Ranger Regiment, and our most prestigious special operation units. He deployed over 20 times in support of Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, New Dawn, Inherent Resolve, Atlantic Resolve, Freedom’s Sentinel, European Assure, Deter and Reinforce, and in support of the Sudan crisis. Hegseth would do well to surround himself with more patriots like General Donahue and to get his henchmen, who are not qualified to carry Donahue's bag, out of the Pentagon. Over the last year, the growth in military expenditure around the world and Europe has been enormous. Rearmament increases tensions and insecurity, drains investments from education and healthcare, undermines trust in diplomacy, and enriches elites who care nothing for the common good. This should not be called “defense.”

What kind of world are we leaving behind? Unfortunately, it is a world distorted by war and war-like language. This pollution of reason comes from the geopolitical sphere and invades every social relationship. Any simplification that creates enemies must be corrected, especially in universities, through complexity of thought and wise exercise of memory.

Did some digging on Josh Lowe, and one thing that stood out is he seems to be too passive on first pitches. He takes 66.7% of 0-0 pitches, and the worst part is those pitches he’s taking are right in his hot zone.

@cwebbonline It is unconstitutional to determine representation by race. There are no special cut outs or exceptions. Do we have Christian, Gay, Muslim, Jewish or Asian maps so everyone gets representation based on their demographic?

Tennessee Republicans did it. The final vote is in. They just gutted the only Black-majority district to lock in more Republican power. Black voters shut out, representation erased. Call it what it is, a white supremacy power grab. And a shameful day for Tennessee, the birth place of the KKK.

Ed Martin is correct about one thing. The “constituent” I opposed pardoning was Greg Lindberg, who was convicted of defrauding North Carolinians to the tune of billions of dollars and attempting to bribe public officials. Keep up the great work, Ed.
