National Dairy Development Board
NDDB conducted a two-day Farmers Orientation Programme for participants from the Nagaland Livestock Development Board. The programme aimed at strengthening participants’ understanding of the Anand Pattern of dairy development while enhancing their knowledge of scientific dairy management practices and cooperative functioning. During the programme, participants were provided exposure to various components of the dairy value chain through technical sessions on animal health, feeding management and breeding practices. Field visits to @DairyAmul Plant & Museum, Amul Chocolate Plant at Mogar, Mujkuva Dairy Cooperative Society & Manure Cooperative and NDDB's Fodder Demonstration Unit enabled participants to gain practical insights into milk procurement, processing, quality systems, value-added product manufacturing, fodder management and community-led cooperative initiatives. The programme concluded with a review and feedback session, enabling participants to share their learnings and experiences. The exposure and practical insights gained through the programme are expected to help participants strengthen dairy practices at the grassroots level, improve productivity and promote efficient cooperative functioning in their regions.

Dr @ShahMeenesh , Chairman, NDDB made a detailed presentation on the dairy development plan in Rajasthan during a high-level meeting chaired by Shri V Srinivas ( @svoruganti1466 ), Chief Secretary, Government of Rajasthan. The meeting was attended by Shri Naresh Pal Gangwar, Secretary and Ms Varsha Joshi, Additional Secretary of Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying ( @Dept_of_AHD ), Government of India ; Ms Shruti Bhardwaj, Managing Director, RCDF ( @rcdf_official ); Dr CP Devanand, MD, NDDB Dairy Services ( @NDDBDairyServ ); Dr. Suresh Chand Meena, CEO, RLDB; Shri Rajesh Kumar, Regional Head, NDDB Northern Region and other senior officials from State AH Department ( @rajanimalhus ) and Finance Department; DAHD, RCDF and NDDB. During the meeting, the Chief Secretary, Rajasthan highlighted that the meeting marked a significant milestone as all major stakeholders had come together to leverage mutual expertise for planning and implementing a series of interventions to strengthen Rajasthan’s dairy sector and realise the vision of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Rajasthan ( @RajCMO ). He also emphasised the importance of expeditious implementation of the proposed activities to achieve the envisaged targets. Secretary, DAHD, GoI in his remarks stressed the need for integrated and focused interventions across the dairy value chain, ranging from productivity enhancement and milk procurement to processing and marketing, with a special focus on strengthening dairy cooperatives. Chairman, NDDB in his presentation outlined the strategic interventions required to strengthen the dairy sector in general and dairy cooperatives in particular, along with the major outputs and outcomes envisaged. He reiterated that NDDB along with its subsidiaries will continue to provide necessary support to the Federation, Milk Unions and State AH Department. Additional Secretary, DAHD, GoI also made a brief presentation on the key focus areas for the livestock and dairy sector to realise its potential and effectively leverage the central sector schemes.

NDDB inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Telangana to support the development of cooperatives in the State. In the presence of Shri Vakiti Srihari Ji ( @Vakiti_srihari ), Hon'ble Minister for Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development & Fisheries, Sports and Youth Services, Government of Telangana; Shri Beerla Ilaiah Ji ( @IlaiahBeerla ), Hon’ble MLA & Government Whip; Shri G. Madhusudhan Reddy, Chairman, NARMACS; Shri Jayatheertha Chary, Managing Director, Mother Dairy, Ms Romy Jacob, Regional Head, NDDB Southern Region and Shri K. Linga Reddy, Managing Director, The Nalgonda-Ranga Reddy Milk Producers Mutually Aided Cooperative Union Limited (NARMACS) along with senior officials from NDDB, @MotherDairyMilk & NARMACS, the MoU was signed by Dr V. Sridhar, Senior General Manager (Co-operative Services), NDDB and Shri K. Ilambarithi, Secretary, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development & Fisheries, Government of Telangana. The agreement aims to strengthen the cooperative infrastructure in Telangana and improve the livelihoods of small & marginal dairy farmers through enhanced milk procurement, improved infrastructure, technical support and professional management of dairy operations. The initiative aligns with the broader objectives of White Revolution 2.0 and envisages strengthening milk handling capacities and cooperative dairy development in the State. Under the MoU, NDDB, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Mother Dairy, will manage the operations of processing and marketing of the NARMACS dairy plant. A tripartite agreement has also been signed between NDDB, Mother Dairy and NARMACS to support the revival and long-term sustainability of the cooperative in Telangana. NARMACS will continue to focus on milk procurement and field-level activities. The agreement also provides for financial and technical assistance for modernisation and operational efficiency improvements. NDDB & its subsidiary will also support structured capacity-building support, technical training of manpower, extension services and advisory assistance to strengthen milk procurement and expand cooperative coverage in potential villages. The Government of Telangana has agreed to facilitate operational support, including enabling necessary permissions and infrastructure support for strengthening dairy operations. The MoU also provides for technical interventions in animal breeding, animal health, nutrition and cooperative services in the operational areas of NARMACS.

Exploring partnership to promote sustainability and circularity in the dairy sector - "India - Japan" A meeting was held between the Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India and Vice-Minister for International Affairs, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (@METI_JPN), Government of Japan, in Atal Akshay Urja Bhawan, New Delhi, to explore a partnership to promote sustainability and circularity in the dairy sector, specifically setting up of CBG plants through dairy cooperatives. Dr @ASHISHBHUTANI14, Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation, briefed about various initiatives taken by the Ministry of Cooperation for strengthening and promoting cooperative societies and emphasised the importance of sustainability and circularity in the dairy sector particularly through the establishment of CBG plants, which would create an additional stream of income for farmers, provide clean energy and organic manure, help protect the environment and address the sanitation issues. The Japanese delegation was led by Mr. Takehiko Matsuo, Hon’ble Vice-Minister for International Affairs, METI. The meeting was attended by Mr. Raman Kumar, Joint Secretary, Mr. S. NDDB అధికారులతో తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్ర డెయిరీ విభాగం అధికారులు ఒప్పందాలు చేసుకున్నారు. ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో రాష్ట్ర పశుసంవర్ధక, పాడిపారిశ్రామికాభివృద్ధి, మత్స్య, యువజన సర్వీసులు, క్రీడల శాఖ మంత్రి వాకిటి శ్రీహరి, ప్రభుత్వ విప్‌ బీర్ల అయిలయ్య, పశుసంవర్ధక, డెయిరీ, ఫిషరీస్‌ సెక్రటరీ ఇలంబర్తి, మదర్‌ డెయిరీ చైర్మన్‌ మధుసూదన్‌రెడ్డి, NDDB అధికారులు పాల్గొన్నారు.

Nalgonda-Ranga Reddy Districts Milk Producers Mutually Aided Cooperative Union Limited (NARMUL) has entered into a tripartite agreement with the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) for the development and strengthening of the dairy sector. As part of the agreement, NDDB will take responsibility for the development of the dairy for a period of 15 years. In the initial phase, NDDB will release Rs.10 crore towards clearing pending dues of dairy farmers. Officials of the Telangana Dairy Development Department signed the agreement with NDDB representatives in the presence of senior dignitaries. The programme was attended by Telangana Minister for Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development, Fisheries, Youth Services and Sports @Vakiti_srihari , Government Whip Beerla Ilaiah, Animal Husbandry, Dairy and Fisheries Secretary Ilambarthi, Mother Dairy Chairman Madhusudan Reddy, and @NDDB_Coop officials.

NDDB’s Mansinh Institute of Training (MIT) organised a five-day training programme on Dairy Technology for Non-Dairy Technologists. Twenty-one officials representing Sangamner, Rajarambapu and Bhopal (@bsds_sanchi ) Milk Unions, along with GCMMF Ltd. (@Amul_Coop ), participated. The programme aimed to provide participants with an overview of the national & international dairy sector, covering fundamentals of dairy chemistry, microbiology, dairy technology, food safety, quality assurance and engineering aspects relevant to dairy processing. Sessions also included insights into milk processing operations, manufacturing technologies for value-added dairy products such as fermented products, fat-rich products, cheese, ice cream, UHT milk, condensed milk, dried milk products and paneer. As part of the programme, the participants visited @banasdairy1969 to gain exposure to large-scale dairy operations and interacted with officials on various aspects of plant management.

During the “Sahkar se Samriddhi” Regional Workshop for Northeastern States on Cooperatives organised by the Ministry of Cooperation (@MinOfCooperatn ) at Aizawl, Dr Sabyasachi Roy, Regional Head (NES), NDDB, delivered a comprehensive presentation on expanding and strengthening the cooperative dairy network in the North Eastern Region under White Revolution 2.0. The workshop was attended by Shri Ashish Kumar Bhutani, Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India; Shri Siddharth Jain, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India; Shri Pankaj Kumar Bansal, Managing Director, NCDC & Additional Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India; Shri Raman Kumar, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India; Shri Kumar Ram Krishna, Director, Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India; Smt. Archana Singh, CGM, @NABARDOnline ; and senior officials from NABARD, NCDC (@mdncdc ), State Governments and cooperative institutions from across the North Eastern States. Highlighting NDDB’s cooperative-led approach towards inclusive rural development, Dr Roy elaborated on the interventions being implemented across the North East to strengthen dairy cooperatives and improve the socio-economic conditions of rural milk producers. He outlined initiatives for expanding village-level dairy cooperatives, strengthening milk procurement and dairy infrastructure, improving animal productivity through AI and breeding services, promoting fodder development, introducing digital milk testing and transparent payment systems, supporting women dairy farmers, facilitating market access and building sustainable farmer-owned dairy value chains. He further emphasised that, through convergence of various State Government and Government of India schemes, NDDB is extending financial, technical and institutional support to Milk Unions, along with professional guidance, training and digital interventions to strengthen cooperative governance, operational efficiency and long-term sustainability in the region.
