NOTRE DAME PREP SPEECH AND DEBATE is heading north this weekend as members of both our middle and upper school teams travel to the 2026 Michigan Speech Coaches, Inc. Spring Conference Tournament at the iconic Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island. This marks the largest event presence in program history for Notre Dame Prep, with students competing in one of the most distinctive forensics and debate events in the state. Hosted by Michigan Speech Coaches, Inc., the Mackinac Spring Tournament brings together top student speakers from across the state for a unique end-of-season experience at the Grand Hotel, including unconventional events such as Soapbox Sales, Pop Culture Analysis and TikTok Impromptu. Irish split a pair with Oxford tonight. Took the opener in extra innings behind a great effort in the circle from DeCaussin and some brilliant defensive plays by Rix-Renne. Oxford answered in the nightcap as the Irish fell in 5 innings. Irish now 18-9 on the season.

A MEMORABLE AFTERNOON on the Irish baseball diamond as members of the 1986 Pontiac Catholic Class C state championship baseball team returned to campus to celebrate a milestone achievement in school legacy history. Before today’s matchup between the 26-3 Fighting Irish and Rochester Adams, the championship team gathered to reconnect, reminisce and once again walk the grounds of their former school. Led by head coach Frank Freeburn, the 1986 squad captured the Class C state title with a 3-2 victory over Hamilton High School to cap an unforgettable season. Each member of the team present today was introduced on the field prior to the first pitch as the Notre Dame Prep community honored their legacy and the proud tradition of Catholic education and athletics that continues on this campus today.
