Guys who were buying for backyard spent at least $250K at Shipshewana last weekend with a handful of dealers. Possibly more with other dealers we don't know of. Arena Club and others also had people there buying and paying strong. They've been paying strong because they know they can hit their margins regardless. And the guys selling to them were living off 5-10% margins because they were doing so much volume. This news will absolutely have an impact on the singles market at card shows. The era of selling so many cards at or above comps is likely done. If the big breakers are made to pause or outright stop doing repack breaks on whatnot, other platforms might follow suit. This could result in a lot of singles inventory being pushed back into the market. That's good news for some, but bad news for those who's biz model is doing repack breaks or selling singles to repack breakers at a 5-10% margin.

@ofthehobby I’m just making sure people realize that just because they never touch a repack or whatnot that this could impact them.

@NEOCards_Comics Like your content neo, but this feels like you’re pushing a narrative of let’s leave this alone because of all the money repacks inject into the hobby. Our cards might go down, but at least we’ll have some more honesty/regulation hopefully.

I think people really don’t understand how much money repacks are injecting into shows. Leave the keyboard and go to show see what’s going on. They are the ultimate liquidity engine, if it gets turned off single prices and shows will see a major hit.
