Tough loss. 3 straight losses was going to happen at some point, it’s why the separation they created was so massive in the Wild Card. But, brutal offensive showings against good pitching, which is all you’ll see in the postseason is a current worry. Seranthony doesn’t look right and they can’t get Harper back to first base fast enough. Final out coming up in about a half hour on @SportsRadioWIP.

@JohnStolnis I’ve been thinking about Torkelson, John. I agree but he’s so young and such pedigree that I think he would still cost two top 5 prospects. Maybe griff and Rojas . Would you agree? At that rate I’d rather get lane Thomas and resign Rhys.

Interesting name to keep an eye on for the trade deadline... Detroit's Spencer Torkelson. Kind of like a Brandon Marsh last year, young player with big upside who has struggled since being called up.

Darick Hall probably shouldn't stick around at 1B, but Kody Clemens and Jake Cave aren't the answer either. Goldschmidt would be a longshot, and I'm growing more pessimistic this Harper-to-1B thing is actually going to happen.

@Phillies We drove 2 1/2 hours to this game and have 21/2 hours home … 300 in tix before parking/ food/drink/souvenirs etc and prob hotel at this point or another 3 hours back… an update would at least be courteous 90 min post first pitch

@RyanGarciaESM Especially when Hoskins was healthy… where were they going to play? Do you play vierling over marsh… schwarber… ? Maton over stott or Bonn? Do they make a better bench piece than sosa? Is Soto not an upgrade over bellatti?

@AH_Pod @RyanGarciaESM I like both of those guys as pieces on a team and I like maton better than Matty v .. but everyone can see that vierling has a 670 ops and maton is hitting .194 (albeit with upside). Soto has unicorn stuff with shit command… if they can get 80% of what they did with Alvarado…

@RyanGarciaESM they don't use him as a closer and Maton/Vierling are two mediocre, but fun, bench bats. you should probably get back in that lab and learn baseball.

@JohnStolnis Hey John, I agree with this but do you also feel like San Diego may actually have a better lineup than us now? . X can REALLY hit and couple in Tatis being back…clearly better while Bryce is out but maybe even when he gets back?

Yeah if I'm going 11 years for Turner or Bogaerts, it's Turner by a mile.

@bsam63 @JackFritzWIP I think he is least likely to be traded … i prefer burnes… but any deal would prob require Abel, Rojas, Wilson, Lee. I think gallen would require griff as well because of the extra year and that’s a lot.

I think Dombrowski is bluffing when talking about adding just a mid-rotation arm next. Taillon is fine, but an innings eater isn’t winning you a World Series and I think he knows this. You don’t have to sign Rodón, but then you NEED to trade for another high quality arm.

@JackFritzWIP Agreed. The athletic predicted Xander to Phils at 7/196 and Turner to Mariners at 8/264. If that’s the case I think I’m leaning towards Xander.

Morning Phils thought: The expectation this offseason needs to be signing one of the SS's and acquiring another ace whether it be thru free agency or a trade. The window is now and anything less than that simply can't happen.

He and Turner could lengthen this lineup incredibly and he could move to the OF when Rhys leaves next year and Castellanos can move to 1b. Thoughts?

@pennstatedude @JackFritzWIP Bryce Harper couldn't carry any of those players jocks. What is this love affair with this guy? He was MVP last year. Big deal. Puljos did it 3x and has 2 rings. I hope he plays next year. He needs 15 doubles to be the only player in MLB history with 700 HR & 700 doubles.
