They actually SHARE tips with kitchen workers, hostesses, and bar backs at MANY restaurants and bars/grills. Also, when you have ten at a table that keeps you running back and forth to the kitchen for “extra” or “additional “ food, drinks, condiments, and then your other tables that have two or four people, get ignored, because you are so busy running back and forth for these ten selfish, rude, messy (like putting chicken wing bones in martini or even tea glasses after eating them) you expect EACH person pay you for your trouble! It’s NOT a job to bring the food to the table ONCE and then be done. I think people who think like you, need to work in the food service industry about a month, then you can decide if you should be tipped or not, after you get your minimum wage or sometimes even UNDER minimum wage salary. Not to mention, most servers are also assigned to clean the tables, floors, dishes, sweep, mop and general cleaning, EVEN BATHROOMS, after they close. So they work HARD for their money.

We went to a dinner as a group and had a $500 bill. We tipped $40. We were happy we can be able to give our server something, but her reaction was the opposite. She told us she assumed we're going to give her at least $120. When we asked for the manager, she said she was just joking, but she wasn't smiling at all. Idk, but is $40 tip enough for $500 bill? I just feel like expecting $120 is not realistic. ~Lea Robertson
