I believe if you pinned either of these rosettes on him in a Scottish Election he could get voted in. We need to change Scotland. Are you in?

The “Far Right”🙄 are taking back their country! Funny how that works when the MSM can’t control the narrative! The power lies with the people, always remember that and always remember that we out number them hundreds of thousands to one! I’m glad the diplomatic approach is finally working! Time to implement real leadership at the helm! 🫡🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Ok. Let’s do that. SNP + Greens took 49% of the vote and 72 MSPs between them in 2021. On Thursday their combined share of vote was 41% but they ended up with one more MSP between them — 73. So combined share of vote down 8 percentage points. Hardly momentum for independence. And it’s share of the vote that matters in a referendum. Nor does one more MSP for independence change anything. There was a majority of MSPs for independence before Thursday. Much good did it do them. So what’s new? Nor does anyone seriously think combining Green and SNP MSPs a serious basis for claiming independence. Even Nicola Sturgeon acknowledged it wasn’t. Even more so now — the Green manifesto for Thursday did not include independence. So it’s no mandate for independence.
Martin Campbell Kaney@xaorsa_online

@afneil You have to include the Greens and other Independence parties in the momentum. You cannot just look at the SNP.

Richard Tice gave a strong full interview with Trevor Phillips this morning on Sky. They treated him with far less contempt than the BBC did earlier, so it is actually worth watching. Straight talking and on the issues that matter and a couple of issues that don't matter @TiceRichard @IsabelOakeshott @RichardTice

A landslide victory is an election result in which the winning candidate or party achieves a decisive victory by an overwhelming margin, securing a very large majority of votes or seats far beyond the typical competitive outcome.🤨😳
Women Won't Wheesht 👩‍🦰@TheParty1sOver

Why on earth is @JohnSwinney embarrassing himself by saying it's a landslide?? 2021 SNP results Constituency - 1,291,204 Regional - 1,094,374 2026 SNP results Constituency - 877,077 Regional - 625,949 WTF is he on about???

With all 136 English councils counted: Reform gained 1,451 seats Labour lost 1,496 seats Tories lost 563 seats Greens gained 441 seats LibDems gained 155 seats In other news north of the border: The SNP won 58 seats with a 33% share of the vote (need 65 for a majority). In the previous 2021 Holyrood elections they won 64 seats with a 44% share of the vote. So down six seats and 11 percentage points on five years ago. Not quite the momentum for independence the Nats are claiming. Will be quite easy for Westminster to bat away calls for another Indy ref.

The SNP lost 39 seats at the general election after stating a majority of seats would give them a mandate for independence. The SNP lost 6 seats at the holyrood election 7 short of a majority which they said they needed for a mandate on a referendum. The SNP vote share and number of votes are down on 2021. Yet the FM still claims he has a mandate on a referendum it doesn’t make sense. Showing again it makes no difference what the electorate says. The only mandate the SNP have is to run a devolved administration yet he concentrates on everything but that showing devolution has failed Scotland no wonder only 53% turn out to vote.

I’m fed up with non SNP people telling me how all the good things we get. Like free prescriptions free university fees free bus travel etc etc etc are not free but paid for by taxes. Some of these things I don’t benefit from but I m happy for my taxes to pay for them.

One of the most efficient parts of the UK economy is the supermarket sector. The profit margins are 1% to 2%. Many essential items are sold at below cost to encourage people in. That has downsides - farmers are made to share the burden but don't get the balancing sales - but the idea that the government can cut your prices is absurd. The effect will be to ensure shops close in the poorest areas forcing those already struggling to travel further and pay for the privilege. This is going to cost everyone but the poorest most.
Colin Mackay@STVColin

FM says he will invite all party leaders except Reform in to St Andrews House for talks about post election priorities. On cost of living, he will deal with supermarket price cap and £2 bis fare in first 100 days. He says UK Govt must engage on the constitution.

What John Swinney doesn’t tell his adoring congregation. Scotland is Bankrupt due to SNP gross incompetence. “Scotland is facing a £5 billion funding gap projected by the end of the decade, with the government lacking a detailed plan to address this shortfall. The situation is compounded by rising social security costs and workforce expenses, leading to significant pressures on public finances” @JohnSwinney
