What puzzles me is why so many people are so angry about what they call "a ban on something that doesn't exist", because on those terms a ban can't possibly do any harm to anyone. Wouldn't be a bit more to their anger than they're letting on, would there?

This is Stephen Baillie. The East Renfrewshire priest has been found guilty of sexually assaulting a man at a Clarkston church after a night out.
He was today convicted by a jury of sexually assaulting a man at St Joseph’s Church in Clarkston between June 27 and 28, 2024, while his victim was “heavily intoxicated and unable to consent”, following a trial at Paisley Sheriff Court.
The court heard harrowing evidence of how Baillie repeatedly sexually assaulted the man after a “business dinner”, leaving the victim and his partner needing therapy and struggling with the impact of the “traumatising” ordeal.
Baillie, who has been a priest for 36 years serving parishes in Greenock, Paisley, Clarkston and Eaglesham, denied the charge but was found guilty and placed on the sex offenders register.

I’m full of anxiety if my 22 year old daughter wants to go into Glasgow on a night out. I’m literally prep talking her worst case scenarios in order for her to know what to do in a crisis. We pic her up and drop her off as I’m too scared for her to be in a taxi. She gets picked up and dropped off at the venue as I hate the thought of her walking passed alleyways.
