History was made in France yesterday as two Nigerian stars went head-to-head at the Accor Arena in Paris, representing their respective clubs—Charleville-Mézières and Tango Bourges. Oderah Chidom led Charleville-Mézières to a thrilling 70–67 victory over Amy Okonkwo’s Tango Bourges, securing the club’s first-ever Women's French Cup title after four heartbreaking final losses—three of which were to Bourges (2017, 2018, 2019). As a proud Nigerian, it was incredible to witness these two talented women showcase their skills on such a big stage. Massive congratulations to Oderah on this historic win, and hats off to Amy—your time will come - again. Fun fact: Amy won the inaugural Breakout Player of the Year award at the @NFSA_Paris Nigeria-France Sports Awards in 2023, while Oderah took the honor last year.
