I posted literally yesterday that #PaniniBlockchain had 18 sales in last 7 days. Namely 18 crossed 1ETH bench mark. Then last 24 hours, we have 7 new 1ETH+ sales. (7 wonders? As I just saw 2.) First 5 were all time highs (or ties) when they happened. We are witnessing something special here. @jaydesai x 2, @BoredClint (PBC ape takeover a bit?) @2020Eagle0 Jascar doing work. Also nice sighting of @MelitoMichael1 and @MetaverseLuka sighting to round off 24 hr top 8. #BlockbyBlock

I believe in poetry & symbolism. Chat w/ Yair/yrcollectibles23 on & off for 2 yrs, he finally bought in. I gave him a fair/cheap price to start off to build around (free emojis+@wemby💥G BC $30k offer). Ranked top 3. 2 Fedora punks, then a buyer brought in by another Fedora. Yair is one of the biggest collectors in physical hobby. Welcome onboard, brotha! I normally won’t sell grails prematurely, as I believe any selling of coffin cards is early selling, but worth it for the cause of growing the ecosystem. Last time I sold Adl two nice cards to get him started 2 years ago and he brought $4M to PBC platform and is the number 1 secondary pillar. No pressure Yair! #PaniniBlockchain #whodoyoucollect #sportscard #blockbyblock #cryptopunk @cryptoslamio @PaniniAmerica @kortpeters @RoshanJ58372131 [BC 193/1959]

Shohei Ohtani: The "Greatest" Phenomenon Shohei Ohtani has arguably surpassed traditional top Japanese brands in global cultural, commercial, and social impact. While Toyota and Sony remain the most valuable commercial entities, Ohtani is a once-in-a-generation athletic prodigy who has become the most popular, and most marketable, figure in Japanese history. Unprecedented Impact: Analysts and fans often call Ohtani the greatest baseball player ever, surpassing legends like Babe Ruth due to his dual elite performance as a pitcher and hitter. Unmatched Popularity: He is arguably the most famous athlete in Japan’s history, with his popularity extending globally and dominating endorsements. Commercial Brand: Beyond sports, his, and even his dog's, popularity in Japan is immense, with his face appearing on numerous products, making him an inescapable brand unto himself. A Kaboom NFT of remarkable distinction. Rendered in a radiant metallic finish, its bold lines and explosive color feel like a modern Picasso — a masterpiece that just happens to run a 4.6 forty and throw lasers on Sundays. The artist delivered brilliance. Mahomes delivers greatness. Collectors get the privilege of saying, “Yes, that one is mine.” Not merely an NFT… a statement piece. Museum-worthy! @PaniniAmerica @paninitracker @spinotron

The #PaniniBlockchain is in an interesting place right now, here’s why: Last August and September we saw a massive explosion in the MP August - $7.1M (up from $2.9M in July) September - $15.5M We saw record sales and cards hitting the sales tracker at an unreal pace. ($200+) I call this time the “big boom” As someone who joined in 2023, it was UNREAL to see this type of growth. I actually thought it would take 5-10 years to get to that level… I was obviously very wrong Now most of this growth was driven by some new “whales” coming in and scooping up grails (see video for reference) This caused FOMO amongst OG collectors, OG whales, and even new collectors. We mostly saw a rise on the high end market which eventually trickled down to the mid tier and low tier eventually started climbing, until… October - February things cooled off with sales staying between $4.1M - $6.6M We saw a lot less MP activity in the last 3-4 months, especially on the high tier stuff. My theory is that a lot of the high end stuff went into the hands of long term holders or flippers that don’t want to sell for less This has made the high end market pretty stagnant compared to the “big boom” days This slow down made its way down to the mid and low tier cards where flippers ended up feeling it the most Pack market also took a hit as the 5-10X pack flips dried up with less favorable packs being sold by Panini in the last few months. Loss of NBA license and overpriced NFL packs might have been a factor as well. Just speculation. So we’ve been in this weird valley in the past few months - big whales already full and not really buying or selling, mid to low tier trending down, pack flips less profitable, and delays from Panini on the bridge (not cool) All leading to less collector confidence and uncertainty in the market (not good) BUT… something changed recently. Well 2 things: - PBC released a “roadmap” - PBC launched the bridge to ETH I think the first thing, the “roadmap”, is actually the more important piece. At least for the sake of this post (I’m getting to the point lol) In the past 30 days, more so in the past week or two, we’ve seen a dramatic rise on low tier cards. This is very different from the “big boom” - high end sales were the catalyst there It seems like the next growth phase will come from the bottom up - cheaper cards from cheap or desirable sets and collectors stacking blue chip players And eventually collectors move up the ladder to the mid tier as the price gap closes We’re seeing this right NOW. Maybe collectors don’t have much of a choice bc higher end stuff is being diamond handed. It’s very hard to pry some of these grails away from collectors. We’re seeing very solid offers across most sports (see video) but very little movement. It’s rare that one of the cards from the video actually sells and when it does it’s usually a collector accepting an offer so they can go buy another grail lol Nows a good time to keep an eye on #panininfts - if you’re involved, might be a good time to grab some stuff you’ve been waiting on buying Lowball offers arent really getting accepted so be smart or just BIN (NFA DYOR) Things might heat up as the World Cup rolls around and if Panini can deliver on a few pieces of their roadmap Also, we wait to see when some bigger IP like NBA and NFL can cross the bridge to ETH and we will see how the market reacts Also new #worldcup soccer packs should be coming soon! Hopefully #fifa #prizm Any questions about PBC feel free to DM #blockbyblock

My thesis few years ago when I called them iP rookie cards and started picking them up, was that eventually they could close the gap on the comic book grails. Maybe I’m wrong maybe I’m right time shall tell. Sports cards even though I love them, felt riskier to me because so many players get hurt, don’t pan out, off the field issues, so many things can impact an active players market value (even the retired players though not as common). I knew brands had trading cards before, but never really dove down the rabbit hole or looked into them. I started thinking, I wonder what the 1st super hero cards were, the first marvel cards, star wars cards etc. Once I found clear cut answers about what the very first ones were and how long ago they were, I said oh wow I think something is here.. They looked incredible. I started searching and seeing them on ebay. They all had a distinct vintage feel to them. It felt like hidden gold that everyone was walking by. I asked around experts in the hobby about these first ever donruss marvel cards. To my surprised every collector told me they aren’t valuable the hobby doesn’t respect them as the first marvel cards. That surprised me because all my research told me they were indeed the first ever marvel cards and the first captain america rookie. I saw people spend big money on the newer cards that were being released and just was confused why people are doing that, but not touching or respecting the very first ones. I did more research and confirmed they were the first. The same happened for the topps starwars cards too. The first rookie (first appearance) of captain america on a card, first marvel card of all time in a psa 5 was listed for $220.. Captain americas 1st appearance the comic book same grade sells for around $400,000. I’m not saying the card will be worth $400,000, but $220 felt incredibly way too low and thought it’s gotta close the gap over time on the comic books especially because it feels like today’s trading cards are the previous generation’s comic books. I’m not saying comics will ever go away or be devalued if anything their value will probably continue to rise. It just feels like cards are finally becoming legitimized by collectors and investors. That same captain america rookie, 1st marvel card of all time, same grade sold a week ago for $3,600 83 bids. Feels like the tide is finally turning. Collectors and investors are starting to appreciate “IP Rookie cards”. We have seen it in Pokemon for awhile now. I believe the other famous big brands/artists/IP will catch on in a very big way. The Luke Skywalker psa 10 rookie card topps 1977 isn’t even 1 million dollars yet.. last sold was $268k which broke the previous record but still has tremendous room for growth in my opinion. When I look at the sales of some sports cards, it feels like some IP Rookies are just getting started🏆 Topps x IP = 🚀🚀

You've heard by now that @PaniniAmerica has launched their two way bridge to Ethereum and partnered with @opensea as the exclusive marketplace to list their NFTs on the eth network. But take a closer look 👀 It's not just the NFT that is being bridged over, not just some still, plain image... The complete animation, front and back card views, as well as that card's complete metadata (the DNA) and traits. Search and filter by any and all fields to view any one of the 421 @BadEggCompany NFTs that have already made the journey! Check it out for yourself 👉 opensea.io/collection/pan…

So this was big news for the NFT + what I like to call DiCo space (officially licensed digital collectibles utilizing blockchain tech). The first bridgings proceeded without hiccups. I saw exactly one (!) from my followers being excited. Nobody here collecting at Panini?
Panini America@PaniniAmerica

Panini Blockchain will open its Ethereum bridge to its customers on Monday, March 30! The Bridge allows users to move their digital collectible cards from their Panini wallets to self-custody wallets. The cards can then be stored in their wallet and bought or sold on @OpenSea. Great feature interview of the founder @DarranGarnham of Bad Egg universe by @opensea. I often do pairing between physical sports card and #PaniniBlockchain. Here I did a pairing of BadEgg Opensea Genesis release (one of 12 1/1, among 1500) and a Prizm S2 (one of 36 1/1). United on opensea in my spinotron.eth wallet. This S2 on Opensea/ethereum was possible because of: - a well-received S1 collab between Bad Egg and PBC Prizm on PBC network, paving way for: - a follow-up expanded S2 collab between BE and PBC on PBC network, ready for: - initial test batch to port back and forth via a bridge between PBC and ethereum networks. So this moment is 3 milestones in one: - Bad Egg’s success cross platform/ecosystem expansion - PaniniBC’s industry defining bi-directional bridge that allows self-custody and assimilate eth community to PBC eco - spino being able to land Genesis 1/1 (bloody hard) and Prizm S2 1/1 with matching character and image. Love how they chose Wemby’s rookie year prizm design for this S2 drop. (Luka physical prizm 1/1 in this exact design sold for $375k at Alt). Love they chose Prizm Black for S2 after choosing Prizm Black Finite for S1. Slightly different to add to the collectability. (This also matches NBA on chain being Prizm Black while NFL on chan being Prizm Black Finite.) Love the slight chance of skin type from a cooked/unstable egg in stomach(? or Saw movie 1) to a zombie egg in afterlife? Love how UI/UX for cards on OS is exactly the same as on Panini web/app. Animated, you can play around and flip back and forth. I have a friend who spent months trying to use AI to turn a pair of card pics into a 3D playable. Panini did it photo-realistically already for a long while. Love the numerical coincidence: The left egg is item 1298 The right egg was released on PaniniBC on 12/9 and one of 8 Prizm 1/1 solo I have for that collection. #BlockbyBlock #sportscard #TCG #whodoyoucollect [BC 187/1959]

While it does seem like a lot of people are hitting on Cosmic Chrome Basketball. This screen shot is from someone who Bots product. EQL may not be the savior we think it is. Once we have product odds the Math guys can give us a guess on print runs. I would guess they made a lot of this. Which is fine, my main take away here is EQL feels like a band aid on someone that is bleeding out. I'm not sure its the magic potion we want it to be.
