Oh hey there! I’m Catphish—your one-stop swipe right for a “purr-fect” catch. By day I’m dropping heart-eye emojis and sailing smooth on dating apps, but by night I’m reeling in double-taps and phishing schemes with equal flair. Sure, my profile pics are a bit… enhanced, but trust me, you’ll love every “fin”tastic moment. Ready to dive into my DMs? I promise I’m more than just a pretty catfish!

First off, I want to address gaslighting. This was an honest question, and I asked, “Why did you join Cool Cats?”. That response differs depending on who you are and I wanted to know what people want out of Cool Cats when they make the decision to join the community. I can't predict what everyone thinks, but the response I always get is that they like the art and want to support me as an artist.
When Cool Cats started, yes, it was simply about the art. But eventually one of the founders was keen on hiring his old boss and turning this into a tech/gaming focused company. A board of directors was formed and I was not included in that. Thus Cool Pets was formed and hurt the company in so many ways, but the biggest hit we took was losing our direction. Looking back I wish I was more confident to stand up for myself but I wasn’t. So I am equally at fault for this.
At the end of 2022, Cool Cats became partners with Futureverse. This was for two big reasons, Tech and Entertainment. This is the yin and yang that Aaron and Shara hold. It allows Cool Cats to continue to expand in web3 utilizing their technology without having a large team of developers like we did during the Cool Pet days. Our job should be to stay hyper focused on generating more content with my characters. This is why being able to leverage Shara’s massive network in the entertainment industry is so useful for Cool Cats. It’s what landed us an animation studio and top talent VOs.
“The characters are tepid, the story is a bit lame, and the message is empty.” Not really fair to judge this when we have only made two short episodes and there are more on the way. The first two were proof of concept to see if animation was worth pursuing and the conclusion is that they are. It has made describing who we are much, much easier, and has opened the door to new conversations. Trust me, we all want this to be on a streaming platform but it’s not as simple as knocking on Netfilx’s door and saying “One TV show please!”. You have to prove it to them why your IP is worth it and that’s what we plan to do.
For the team members affected in the recent changes, I said it in my video and I’ll say it here too. “I’ve had so many hearts contribute to evolving and loving the characters I’ve created. That’s a gift I could have never imagined and am so immensely grateful to have been given.” This relates to everyone who has been a part of Cool Cat’s journey and they know how thankful I am for everything they’ve contributed. To air this out publicly on their behalf isn’t fair to the people affected, they should be given the chance to create their own messaging. Who knows, maybe they don’t want any of it to be public.
When it comes to Sapphire Town, this was created by me. I was very excited about this because it would pair really well with the animation and further the immersive experience of the characters' world. But just because something is fun doesn’t mean it makes sense as a business. Throughout the development of Sapphire Town there became more and more obvious holes in this plan and you have to start asking yourself the real questions. “How does this become profitable?”, “How much money and attention will it take to make this successful?”, “Do people actually want this?”, “Do we have an audience big enough for this to make sense?”, “What is the long term goal for Sapphire Town?”. It became clearer that what I was creating was a refined version of the Cool Pets Cooltopia. So the biggest question that has to be answered is, will this do more damage if it isn't released, or will it do more damage if it is released and people hate it? Personally, I think people would have been more frustrated with it when they realized there was still a lot more than would need to be developed over the coming months. Similar to Cooltopia.
I hope this addresses some of what you’ve written, at the end of the day my goal is to make this successful with what I think I do best.

I let my thoughts about @coolcats recent events sit with me for 24 hours before writing. After the Discord talk with @cloncast, I had a mixture of feelings.
Gaslighting
Clon started on the defensive, "Why are you here?" I found this to be a form of gaslighting. We are here for the team and the roadmap that was promised. We are here to build alongside the Cool Cats brand with the IP that we own as well. Are we not supposed to express our feelings about the team and friends that were let go? Or show our dismay at the sudden change of direction without any form of communication?
Clon gave a clear indication that Cool Cats NFT is now an art project alongside Crypto Punks or, let's mention another art project, Creature World. He made it out as if this was the case all along, which is simply not true. Cool Cats was always about the brand and the people building the IP to bring it to the heights of Disney.
Cool Cats has never just been about Clon, and never just about his story with Blue. It’s been many things. First, gaming incorporating Web3 technology, then branding, with merch and billboard displays, Comic Con and Macy's, and most importantly, community activation, which helped achieve all these things in the first place.
Clon is now taking the whole treasury, mostly funded by the Cool Pets mint, for his one goal of making an animation. Clon leaves behind a devastation of promises, pivots, and roadmaps yet again, but we are told to "like it or GTFO."
Conflicting Thoughts and Counterarguments
You might say this is a bitter attack, but wait. I do agree with the changes. Having a full-time staff to man the Discord 24/7 and dev teams working on projects that only a couple of hundred people will use is wasteful. We all know NFTs are in a nuclear winter and there are now only the Amazons and Walmart's left: Pudgy Penguins, Azuki, and Yuga.
I don't agree with the way the changes were done. Although tech companies like to fire people this way, the board and especially Clon should've been more sensitive and considerate. After all, these were people executing Clon's plans. Sapphire Town was something he oversaw since February only to cancel the project on the eve of launch, firing all the people on top. For the team that has left, I can only imagine the hurt, confusion, and sense of injustice in these decisions.
The Future
If Clon is reading this, @aaronmcdnz and @SharaSenderoff too... If you are going all in on the animation, the current state of the show is weak. The characters are tepid, the story is a bit lame, and the message is empty. Please work on developing a script with some leading writers in the industry. I want to see characters we care for, I want to see conflict and resolution, I want to see black comedy that parents can laugh at while also watching with their children. I want you to take me places and make me feel emotions I have never felt.
We all want to see this show being picked up by a network and we want it to succeed. Premieres should be on Netflix, not on YouTube. You might have the amazing Titmouse studio and amazing voice casting, but there is still something seriously lacking with the shorts that have been made. Currently this studio and cast comes through connections and money (funded by the Web3 community), not through merit.
If these previous shorts were better, perhaps there could already be a network deal in place. Please don't just make more of the same. Go hard or go home. I expect the show to be amazing if all the resources are focused on this one goal. Don't mess it up and waste this once in a lifetime opportunity. 🙏
Should I Leave?
Cool Cats has benefited me so much through the community, friends, laughter, alpha and experience. So my CC will forever be on my mantelpiece as a reminder of all that can be achieved when people come together and build. I wish Clon and his story all the luck, but I believe Cool Cats is much bigger than Clon, something that if he doesn’t know already, I’m sure he will come to realize in the future.

@DrewAustin @beaniemaxi disclose your veve investment and holdings. the platform is amongst the worst— borderline fraud
English

@beaniemaxi these takes are ridiculous. Digital collectibles are 3-5 yr old industry.
Top comic sales are rare vintage editions from decades ago, new products all go to 0. Dont ya think something similar might happen w/ digital assets, appreciate in value w/ time.
trendy takes are easy.

@Gfunkera86 @rebootgg_ what do you make re: the curious case of cool cats
most interesting "fall from grace" IP to me
English

Seeing a lot of talk about Founders wanting out, trying to sell businesses, etc.
Quiet part out loud: I wouldn’t take most of them for FREE.
The baggage is worth more than the IP.
That said, a few could be interesting inclusions on @rebootgg_ 🤔

@1Condor78 @christinebarnum good. hope the same thing happens to texas
English

@christinebarnum This is why here in Utah we are having masses of Californians moving in. They are so sick of it. I’ve heard it over and over again. Problem is that in some areas they are trying to change the laws to what they fled from. It’s a hard habit to break. Good luck
