I’ve seen a lot of claims flying around about what Latter-day Saints believe.
I want to clear the air as a member of the LDS faith, my testimony in Jesus Christ, what I believe in my soul and with respect to others of different faiths.
I believe there is more common among us all, who believe in Christ, than from the division Satan tries to sew “from within” and/or due to one’s conviction in what they see and view as “their truth”
1️⃣ We don’t worship “a different Jesus.”
We worship Jesus Christ of the New Testament—the Son of God, Creator of heaven and earth, born of Mary, crucified, resurrected, and returning in glory.
He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). He is called “the Eternal God” and “Creator of all things” in the Book of Mormon (2 Nephi 26:12; Mosiah 3:8).
Our faith is centered on the same Christ who saved Peter, Paul, and John.
If confessing “Jesus is Lord” defines Christianity (Romans 10:9), then we stand firmly inside it.l
2️⃣ The Book of Mormon could not have been fabricated.
In 1829, a twenty-three-year-old with almost no formal education dictated a 500-plus-page work in fewer than ninety days—without notes, rewrites, or research libraries—while witnesses verified the process.
Its structure, geography, layered narrative voices, Hebraic parallelism, and Egyptian-Hebrew linguistic patterns simply did not exist in any known 19th-century American literature.
Archaeology and linguistics continue to uncover patterns (chiasmus, Semitic naming forms, ancient metallurgical details) unknown in Joseph Smith’s day.
He sealed that testimony with his life, not for power or wealth, but because he knew it was true. A fraud doesn’t die defending a lie he could have retracted to save himself.
3️⃣ About “evil Mormons” and division.
Christ taught, “By their fruits ye shall know them” (Matthew 7:20).
Millions of ordinary Saints quietly feed the hungry, send humanitarian aid, and live by faith in Christ every day.
Those who claim we are “evil” while stirring contention might remember who the author of contention actually is (3 Nephi 11:29).
The Adversary rejoices when believers fight each other. Christ prayed that His followers “may be one” (John 17:21).
The day will come when the Lord begins His work within the Church—purging hypocrisy, pride, and cruelty wherever it hides—and gathering humble believers from every denomination into one fold under the Shepherd Himself.
4️⃣ Clearing up the wilder accusations.
Latter-day Saints do not teach that Jesus and Lucifer were “sexual offspring” of God and a goddess.
Scripture describes Lucifer as a created angel who rebelled (Isaiah 14:12; D&C 76:25-27) and Jesus as the Only Begotten of the Father, divine and eternal (John 1:1-3, 14).
There is no doctrine in the Church suggesting physical relations between God and Mary. Such claims are caricatures that misrepresent both scripture and official teachings.
One Christ. One ultimate truth.
There aren’t “many Jesuses.” There is one Redeemer of mankind.
And every soul who sincerely follows Him, regardless of denomination, will recognize His voice when He calls.
That’s the unity worth fighting for.
“Mormons aren’t Christians”
We worship the same Jesus who walked in Galilee—Eternal God, Creator, and Savior.
The Book of Mormon isn’t a 19th-century invention; its complexity, language patterns, and witness are beyond that time.
Real disciples build bridges, not walls. The devil divides; Christ unites.
There is one Christ, and He will gather the humble from every fold.
That’s the faith I live.
“Love one another, even as I have loved you”
In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen
