Do not ask "but who's your mother / father / etc" if the person didn't offer the info. Yes there is a slim chance it's ok to ask and they just didn't offer it voluntarily but do you REALLY wanna risk a serious faux pas? 3/4

We need to stop pissing about as if our actions are not directly contributing to climate change, not as a problem that the next generation will have to deal with decades from now, but as a crisis that is killing a lot of people today.

The hard to swallow pill is: when you turn the entire conversation into a taboo, you're just reinforcing the idea that there is only ONE way to be "normal" and socially acceptable. All in the name of avoiding a thorny subject. 5/5

Like, sure, these aren't "illnesses" and shouldn't be stigmatised. Grand. But there's no need to go to the other extreme entirely and completely deny their existence as, ya know, traits that make some people's experiences DIFFERENT. Destigmatising does not = erasing. 4/5

Y are health problems (especially chronic ones) such a taboo? Like why does everyone go to great lengths denying others' experiences in an effort to make them feel better? Why #denial? Wouldn't it be more reassuring to just, Idk, BELIEVE the person? 1/5
