@NHDCLibDems North Herts Lib Dems well represented at Hitchin Eco Day today despite a soggy start. Lots of interest in our local survey and Green Homes petition.

North Herts Council has agreed my proposal to declare an ecological emergency. This will help the council do even more to enhance biodiversity, including working with local organisations and groups.

The Conservatives have failed to tackle the housing crisis. The answer is not to allow private developers to pollute, it’s to build the social housing we desperately need.

The RSPB is rightfully pretty riled up.

Only a fair electoral system can improve our politics and create a fairer country. In too many safe seats, MPs can ignore the majority of their constituents. ❌ It's time to replace outdated First Past the Post elections with a fair system where everyone's vote counts equally.🗳

Far too many people are struggling to get a GP appointment when they need one, leaving them worried or waiting in pain for the treatment they need. The Conservatives have left our health service in pieces.

For some children, a free school lunch may be their only meal of the day. 🍝 We would extend Free School Meals to all children in primary education, and all secondary school children whose families receive Universal Credit. ⬇️

Boris Johnson must be removed from his position on the Privy Council. A disgraced Prime Minister should have no place in advising the King.

The #Hitchin Lib Dems have been really active in #midbeds recently, knocking on doors and delivering leaflets. The outgoing MP needs to get on with her resignation so the people in that area finally get a MP who will actually work for them and put them first.

Conservatives pledged to ban puppy smuggling in their manifesto, then abandoned their bill. 🐶 Last night, over 250 Conservative MPs voted AGAINST an attempt to bring the bill back, and protect our beloved animals from harmful traffickers. Did your MP break their promise?

The Conservatives want to “Get brexit done” Labour want to “make Brexit work” There is no good Brexit. We need to be talking about a road to #RejoinEU. The @LibDems have a plan for just that. #bbcqt @NH4Europe

My thoughts on the report today.

The Conservative party manifesto was not worth the paper it was written on. Local people promised a new hospital will feel betrayed. The Health Secretary needs to come clean to patients and staff and stop tying to pull the wool over people's eyes. theguardian.com/society/2023/m…
