This wave of the NHS CHECK survey is open to anyone who has responded in previous rounds of the survey, including bank / agency staff, both clinical and non-clinical workers, as well as those who have left the NHS (but have taken part before).

👏 Finally, we thank the UK-REACH team for this highly relevant and interesting research which has important policy implications.

The findings stress the importance of addressing financial stressors in supporting NHS staff wellbeing. As highlighted in our policy institute summary, pay is only one part of the picture. Free parking and affordable food on site could also ease financial burden.

McBride et al.'s study concludes that reporting future financial concerns at baseline increased the odds of depressive symptoms at follow-up around 18 months later. This is highly relevant given the ongoing strike action by junior doctors and the cost-of-living crisis. #NHSpay
