A rare visit out of Norfolk for me. First ever visit to Northumberland and first ever live White billed Diver...what a beast ! My last encounter was a tideline corpse back at Cley back in 86 or 87

Svalbard Pink-footed Goose with GPS neck collar. Icelandic breeding birds winter in the UK and Svalbard birds winter in the Low Countries. The arrival of a known Svalbard bird in Norfolk goes hand in hand with the current influx of Whitefronts, Barnacles and Tundra Beans

Eiders have declined a lot in Norfolk and these days we tend to see only the odd one or two. These drakes in Brancaster harbour this morning gave probably the best views I’ve ever had in the county!
