The bravest bone spur in the world. CBS reporter Olivia Rinaldi barely got started: “Mr. President, a question on Iran. Iranian gunboats fired upon two vessels today. President Macron said that…” He folded like a lawn chair. “Out.” Iran is running this man’s presidency now. Every gunboat in the Strait is another headline he cannot survive. They are bleeding him dry, straight through the midterms. Iran wants regime change too. Just not in Tehran. Follow Gandalv @Microinteracti1

Jens Stoltenberg went on Fox News this week. It did not go the way Trump would have liked. The former NATO Secretary General, now Norway’s Finance Minister, was asked about Trump’s threats to pull the United States out of the alliance. He answered with the kind of calm, precise demolition that only a Norwegian diplomat can deliver without raising his voice once. On why Europe didn’t join the war: “NATO is a defensive alliance. The strikes or the war against Iran were never an attempt to make that into a NATO operation.” On whether Europe disagrees with America about Iran: “We all agree the Iranian nuclear program is dangerous. The question is how we achieve that goal.” Translation: the problem was never the destination. It was the lunatic who decided to get there by setting the car on fire. On what Trump should have done before launching: “If you want NATO to contribute, then at least you have to sit down with NATO allies, as you did after 9/11. You cannot expect us just to be there without any consultations, any discussions in NATO before you take the decision to launch the attack.” This is Stoltenberg saying, in the most polished terms imaginable, that you do not start a war at two in the morning on Truth Social and then ring your allies for help at breakfast. On whether Europe abandoned America: “The majority of European allies have made sure that their bases and infrastructure were available for the United States. There are some exceptions, but most have contributed.” Most helped. Quietly. Without being asked to endorse a war they considered illegal. On why leaving NATO would be catastrophic for America specifically: “The United States is 25 per cent of the global economy. But together with NATO allies, we are 50 per cent of the global economy and 50 per cent of the world’s military might. So it makes the United States safer to have friends and allies — something that Russia and China don’t have at all.” And then, in a separate interview, the warning nobody in Washington wants to hear: “It’s not a natural law that we will have NATO forever. It’s not carved in stone that NATO will exist for the next ten years.” That last line was not a threat. It was a diagnosis. Trump called NATO a Paper Tiger. Stoltenberg replied, with characteristic Norwegian understatement, that paper tigers tend to be considerably less useful once you’ve set them on fire yourself. Gandalv / @Microinteracti1

Hormuz has been quiet for 46 years. Trump ruined that in about a week. And here is the truly spectacular part. He cannot undo it. Iran is not stupid. They know they are sitting on the most powerful economic weapon on the planet. Not a nuclear warhead. Something far more elegant. Thirty percent of the world’s oil. Gas. Fertilizer. Medicine. All of it threading through a strip of water you could almost spit across. They do not need to close it. They just need to squeeze it. Just hard enough to send oil prices into orbit. Just hard enough to make American gas stations feel like a mugging. Just hard enough to ensure that by the time midterms arrive, every truck driver, every farmer, every suburban parent filling up the minivan is absolutely livid. Behind Iran’s strategy sits forty years of patience and calculation. Behind Trump’s strategy sits nothing. No masterplan. No endgame. No genius. Just a travelling circus of overpromoted clowns who walked into the most volatile waterway on earth and kicked everything they could find. Hormuz is his masterpiece. Iran is the curator. And the rest of the world is paying the admission fee. If you like what you read, follow Gandalv on X: @Microinteracti1

Dear MAGA America. Dear Orbán Hungary. I have been thinking about this for a while now, and I have come to the conclusion that something has gone genuinely, historically, almost impressively wrong. America produced jazz, the national park system, the Marshall Plan, and the men who froze at the Bulge and bled on Omaha Beach. Those men built an alliance on a simple idea. That free nations stick together and that autocrats are best confronted early rather than photographed with enthusiastically. And then one family drove the whole thing into a wall at speed and walked away from the wreckage whistling. Look around. Look carefully at what is actually happening. There is a man in Washington building triumphal arches and gold statues of himself while announcing, in his own words, that he intends to take Canada, Greenland, Cuba, Mexico, Ecuador, and the oil of Iran. He said these things out loud, repeatedly. There is a man in Moscow rewriting borders by force. And there is a man in Budapest facilitating both of them from inside the Western alliance, with Donald Trump Jr. flying in to offer his personal congratulations. The last time the world looked like this it was 1938. The truly unsettling thing about 1938 was not that it felt alarming. It felt like politics. Strongmen being strongmen, reasonable people making accommodations, everyone hoping it would sort itself out. It did not sort itself out. Germany has been replaced by the United States. The man with the triumphal arches is in Washington now, on a crusade for oil and territory, pulling the energy of the Middle East into the kind of confrontation that has a very poor historical record of ending tidily. And the checks and balances that were supposed to prevent all of this turned out, at the crucial moment, to be a paper tiger that looked at its shoes. Every Canadian, every European, every person who has stood in a Normandy cemetery knows exactly what this feels like. We are all in the same boat. And the boat is taking on water. Now, Hungary. The real one. Budapest is one of those cities where civilisation genuinely tried and largely succeeded. Hungary is European in every meaningful sense, geographically, historically, culturally, always pointing in one direction. West. It rose up against Soviet tanks in 1956 with magnificent stubbornness because the alternative was simply unacceptable. And yet Orbán Hungary is walking it back toward a 1956 moment. Dismantling courts, silencing press, rerouting the country away from the West and toward Moscow. Methodically. Quietly. Legally. Orbán Hungary is not a country. It is a project, lucrative for those running it and considerably less so for everyone else. Hungary belongs in the West. In 2026. Not in Orbán Hungary’s 1938. There is a choice coming. The rest of us will be watching with considerable affection for the real Hungary, which managed it once before under considerably worse conditions. I have every confidence it can manage it again. Stay connected, Follow Gandalv @Microinteracti1

@secretsqrl123 @BasedMikeLee Didn’t the airforce pay USD 150.000 for a soap dispenser for their c-17 cargo planes ? Such neglect is tip of iceberg and goes a long way to explain budget spending…. Also Europe dont bomb every second country, and requires less spending in return.

We’re all tired of Trump’s insults and bullying. It’s time Europe delivered the ultimatum his generals are terrified of. 1. Stop insulting allies publicly. Diplomacy happens behind closed doors. Every time you trash NATO on social media you strengthen Putin and weaken the alliance you claim to lead. 2. Recommit to Article 5 unconditionally. No more ambiguity about whether you’d defend a NATO member. Either you’re in or you’re out. The uncertainty itself is a gift to Russia. 3. Stop demanding allies fight your wars of choice. NATO is a defensive alliance. Iran was not a NATO operation. You don’t get to trash allies for not joining an idiotic war they didn’t agree to. 4. Respect European sovereignty. No more threats against Greenland. No more bullying Denmark. No more treating allied nations like vassal states. 5. Stop undermining European unity. No more cosying up to Orban and other autocrats to divide the EU from within. 6. Honour existing agreements. If you want Europeans to spend more on defence, which they’re already doing stop moving the goalposts from 2% to 3% to 5% every six months. And if you won’t agree: 7. Leave But take everything with you once we take over our bases. Take every soldier, every aircraft, every munitions stockpile. Ramstein, Lakenheath, Fairford, Spangdahlem, Aviano, Incirlik all of it. And then run your next war from 3,000 miles away without European basing, European intelligence or European supplies. Europe is already building alternatives. GCAP with the UK, Italy and Japan. EU rapid reaction forces. European defence spending is surging. The longer Trump pushes, the closer Europe gets to not needing America at all. And once that door closes, America never gets invited back. The leverage is shifting. Someone should tell him before it’s too late.

Just a reminder: in 1982, when Great Britain was attacked by Argentina, starting the Falklands War, the United States did not come to their aid because the Falklands are not in the North Atlantic and the British did not bitch about it. In 1956, when the French and British attacked Egypt, causing the Suez Crisis, despite the fact that France and Great Britain are in NATO, the United States not only refused to assist, but went to the United Nations to condemn them for attacking Egypt. In 2019, when Turkey decided to attack Syria, the Trump administration had the Pentagon send out an official notice that they did not support the campaign and would not send troops. So kindly shut the fuck up, everyone in the White House.

MAGA thinks Europe can't defend itself without America. Here's what they don't know. 1. France and Britain have 515 nuclear warheads and 8 nuclear missile submarines. 2. European defence spending hit €481 billion this year. That's more than Russia and China spend combined. The EU's ReArm Europe plan is mobilising another €800 billion. 3. European countries have over 1.7 million active troops. Russia has 1.3 million. 4. EU and UK air forces fly over 1,400 combat aircraft. Their navies have five aircraft carriers, over 60 submarines, more than 120 frigates and destroyers. 5. Europe has over 6,000 artillery pieces and that's before the biggest rearmament wave since the Cold War. Poland alone is adding 212 new howitzers. 6. The British SAS invented modern special forces. The US copied them to build Delta Force. From France's Foreign Legion to Poland's GROM, Europe's elite units are among the deadliest on earth. 7. Europe already has joint military commands ready to fight. The UK leads a 10-nation rapid reaction force across Northern Europe and the Arctic. Finland alone can mobilise 900,000 trained reservists all prepared to fight in arctic conditions. 8. Europe has its own satellite navigation (Galileo), its own defence programme (75 active projects) and is building its own rapid deployment force. The "helpless Europe" story was never about defence. It was about keeping Europe dependent and buying American weapons, relying on American intelligence, following American foreign policy. Thanks to Trump, that now ends.

@front_ukrainian The Bofors 57mm gun, have almost the double rate of fire and seems more suitable for AA defence. Believe the Danes are just drawing the obvious conclusions from war in Ukraine. The chance to fight drones is significant larger, than navy of Russia which is stuck in port or sunk….

Right then. Let me explain something very slowly, because it appears some basic logic has gone missing somewhere over the Atlantic. No serious nation in the history of warfare has spent fourteen months insulting its allies, threatening to annex their territory, siding with their common enemy, and then knocked on their door expecting them to come running to rescue a catastrophe of its own making. That is not how alliances work. That is not how anything works. You abused the UK. You threatened Canada. You tried to grab Greenland. You called the EU an adversary. You praised Putin, the one man every serious NATO ally has spent decades preparing to fight. You hosted Kremlin officials in the Capitol. You undermined European elections. You abandoned Ukraine. You imposed tariffs on your closest partners. You did all of this loudly, proudly, and on camera. And now you are surprised that nobody is returning your calls. Here is a question worth sitting with. Why do you think that is? Is it possible, just possible, that when you treat your allies like enemies for over a year while cuddling up to their actual enemy, those allies might update their opinion of you? Is that concept too complicated? Does that require more working memory than is currently available? You did not plan this war with your allies. You did not consult them. You did not build a coalition. You started a conflict, watched it go sideways, and then got on your knees asking for help from people you spent fourteen months calling weak, corrupt and irrelevant. NATO is not what it was. Not because Europe changed. Because Washington made crystal clear which side it is on. And it is not ours. You want European boots on the ground? Start by explaining why America is more aligned with Moscow than with Brussels. Take your time. We will wait. Gandalv / @Microinteracti1
