Too late to explore the Earth, too early to explore the galaxy. Just in time for AI dystopia. Seasoned dev, wannabe entrepreneur. All opinions are my own.

I think that most of the indie founders are developers. And most of the developers have troubles when it comes to social interactions. And two things hit at the same time: * it feels awkward to approach a person you do not know * you don't like when a person you do not know approaches you You need to do two things that you don't like at the same time. That's really hard.
Gary Clark@soloceoai

Nobody tells you this: most indie SaaS founders avoid sales because it feels like begging for attentio. But waiting for users to magically show up is just hiding from the real work. What’s the sales move you keep putting off because it feels uncomfortable?

@Im_IrushiK AI will bring singularity nit through quality but through quantity. We will not be able to process the amount of data being created even though it is trivial.

@systemdesignone Because vibecoding attepmts to solve a different problem. It just ships the app faster. It has no implications on app being successful.

I was never that type of the guy to be honest. But the reality is changing no matter we wish it or not, I have to adapt to it. Have you felt the same change around yourself?

From my point of view people with Silicon Valley mindset benefit from current AI the most. Their "fail fast" approach can be executed faster than ever and they know how to proof that the idea worth chasing.

Why should Europe be more wealthy then a Vietnam, china or India in the 21st century? What value does it offer the world. For example I think Australia should ideally remain quite wealthy due to our enormous natural resource reserves. Germany was like the last bastion of Europe providing value in engineering but isn’t their auto industry kind of collapsing. If you look at China it’s the manufacturing powerhouse of the world, with Vietnam taking over the low complexity stuff. India provides global IT, literally every tech company is currently culling their own staff, blaming it on AI and then outsourcing to India. Even Mexico should be richer than Europe in a few decades as they become the manufacturing powerhouse of North and South America.

@KaiXCreator I would say that you shouldn't go for any linux distro on personal machine. Spent there many years and now happy on macOS. I would go for debian on server an learn there. It would be way more useful and comfortable.

question: meta laid off 8000 jobs, what do you think will happen to them? do you think they're going to: - be builders/startup founders - do blue collar trade jobs - be more content creators - get another tech job

imo they are temporary in a bad position. companies aren't hiring not because of AI, but because of expensive borrowing. AI is just an excuse. I really hope that it won't last long because today's juniors should become seniors in 5 years. Rates will go down eventually and we will have horrible shortage of qualified developers.

What language do you write your backend in? - Python (fastest AI development, huge ecosystem, weaker concurrency, great for MVPs) - TypeScript / Node.js (best DX, realtime friendly, strong fullstack stack, easy APIs) - Go (excellent performance, simple deployment, great concurrency, less AI-native) - Rust (extremely fast, memory safe, harder to build quickly) - Java / Kotlin (stable and scalable, enterprise heavy, slower iteration) - Elixir (amazing realtime systems, fault tolerant, niche ecosystem) - Supabase/Firebase (fastest startup backend, auth/db/storage included, great for solo builders) Or something else?

@icanvardar For me it was an obvious movement. Karpathy is pushing that context and tooling is bigger than model for quite some time. And that's basically what Anthropic have been doing for half of the year already. They have just managed to come to an agreement I suppose.

AI-assisted dev is finally doing what we should've always done: ship for the business first, refactor later. We can chase clean architecture as much as we want but it costs nothing if the business doesn't profit from it.
