He asked me if I could be his witness and sign the papers for him.

Not surprising, no company of this magnitude is bought on cash free/debt free basis, they all have a sunset clause to deal with ongoing matters of debts or settlements. Not an issue at all you just put part off the purchase price on an escrow holdback basis.

Let me save you guys the trouble, do what everyone is doing now. Go hire academics, they are super cheap compared to law firms, and they tend to have resources (assistants) around them with glaring passion. They also tend to be more clever. They can work with AG team easily.
