The recent Rachel Reeves Budget spoke volumes. No vision. It delivered for the bond markets and, once again, the bankers, while increasing stealth taxes for millions of workers. Under the Tories, the welfare bill went up by £88 billion.
They left children too poor to eat. They wrote young people off as too ill to work.
That costs the country money and is bad for productivity.
And it's a massive waste of potential.
This is a moral mission. We need to reform the welfare state, and remove all the incentives which hold back the potential of young people.
That’s what my government is doing.
