In a joint press release, 🇪🇺 and 🇺🇦 Ambassadors to 🇨🇳 stress: Ukraine is ready for peace-but it must be just, lasting, and rooted in sovereignty & international law. The EU stands fully behind UA and calls on global partners, incl. China, to press RU for an immediate ceasefire.

On the 4th anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion, EU and Member States’ Ambassadors joined Ukraine’s Ambassador to reaffirm unwavering support for a just and lasting peace based on the UN Charter. The EU stands with Ukraine — for as long as it takes. 🇪🇺🇺🇦

And the war in Ukraine is about the security of Europe as a whole. Today, the UN Charter and the values enshrined therein are yet again threatened. We must all stand united against military aggression, the occupation of any sovereign country and violations of the principle of territorial integrity and of international humanitarian law.

We pay tribute to the courage of the people of China, who endured immense suffering and showed extraordinary resilience in defending their homeland and contributing to the end of the war.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II in Asia, we honour the memory of the millions of men and women from China who lost their lives during the many years of brutal war.

Today we mark Ukraine’s 34th Independence Day 🇺🇦 Ukrainians have been bombed, robbed of their homes and even their children. And yet they persist and stand strong. The Netherlands will remain firm in its support. Our commitment to a free and independent Ukraine is unshakeable.
