Delighted to speak with Rachel Daly in the bronchiectasis session at #BTSSummer25. Highlighting the expanding roles physiotherapists and nurses have in supporting patients with bronchiectasis #respisbest

A year working as a @NewcastleHosps Physio’ today. I’ve been through Neuroscience, Respiratory Medicine and Rehab, and Cardiothoracics. I’ve worked on wards, hydrotherapy, respiratory support units, emergency departments, assessment suites, and intensive care. Unreal job.

In April @NUFC head coach Eddie Howe was admitted to hospital with pneumonia. Watch as he returns to the same hospital to thank the staff who helped him with his recovery 🫂

Day 2 of the #ACPRC25. A day showcasing a variety of perceptions and research, from how we set boundaries to prevent burnout, collaborative MDT in critical care, new and progressive support for Bronchiectasis and COPD, and questioning flow/FiO2 devices to reduced AHRF!

English

Had a great 1st day at #ACPRC25 learning a lot of new things, gaining different perspectives on interventions and if anything, picking up ideas to take back to my team for service improvements, and competency development! Also getting to spend time with @paul_mccallion for a 🍻

Now working in acute medicine, the prevalence of COPD admissions is notable. ‘Breathing Life into COPD’ has been an interesting and engaging talk this morning. We can do more to prevent from, and to provide for. #ACPRC25

Arrived and ready for the #ACPRC25 this weekend. Looking forward to a bit of networking amongst other professionals, and most of all learning to improve my own capabilities. Hopeful that I can take a few key points back to my team for some teaching!

I don't get a locker. No travel or accommodation expenses (my contract says I have to live close so that I can attend hospital promptly). No funding for assistance. Expensive parking. Buy my own coffee. Shared canteen with patients and relatives so have to queue for ages. 🤔

An absolutely amazing conference:
+Incredibly inclusive
+hugely welcoming of physios
+patient voice = they value their airway clearance advice.

Physios are often so concerned about being professional they forget to be themselves!
Give me genuine authenticity over faux politeness any day of the week!
