I’m not implying anything. If you feel that way, you’re putting that on yourself. The reality is this: after the last apostle died, there was no Bible anyone could read. It hadn’t been compiled yet. There was no agreed understanding of the Trinity or even who Jesus is in precise terms - those things were worked out later. So I’m asking you to deal with reality: Christianity made it from the time of Jesus all the way to today. How? Who did that? Who made those decisions? What are their names, places, and dates? Who gave them the authority to do it? Why do you trust them? I’m not forcing you to say anything - I’m asking you to show me the history that got us here.

Catholic Pope Leo XIV says God rejects the prayers of those waging war in Iran, stating their hands are full of blood. I guess the pope thinks that he has authority as a mere man to a special access to God that we do not. It's Narcissistic and untrue. Man needs no mediator between himself and God. These are man-made rituals.

@malonep18 @JDunlap1974 Catholics compiled the Bible but the didn’t write it? Where in scripture does it state anyone other than Jesus is our mediator? We have to confess to a priest? Where in scripture does it say we must pray to Mary? Where in scripture does it say we earn our way to heaven?

Nikki… nobody is forcing you, nor am I, to be Catholic. You’ve made it very clear for a couple of hours now that you don’t like the Catholic Church. I keep asking you: how do you identify the Church that is true? You brought us all the way up to the last apostle, John. After that, there is no Bible for you to read or refer to - so how do we get to it? How did we come to know what it is? Who made those decisions? What are their names, places, and dates? That’s the history I keep asking you for, and you won’t give it. So, who is it? What are their names, dates, places, locations, and their entire history, unbroken up till today? If you don’t know the answer, just say I don’t know.

You’re missing the point, Nikki. I asked you about after John died. At that point there was no Bible as we know it. No fixed New Testament. No defined canon of 27 books. No formal explanation of doctrines like the Trinity. So by your logic - nobody had authority, nobody could say what Scripture was, and nobody could definitively teach what was true. That drops you into total uncertainty the moment the last apostle dies. Do you see what that means? Are you sure you want to stick with that answer?
