I get several of these a week...fake publicists, influencers, and system-gamers who flatter my book (with some plausible-ish summaries) and try to draw me in to their offers of multiplying its influence. Sometimes they pretend to be an editor or ex-editor of a major publishing house. Sometimes they spoof a legitimate author. Occasionally they hide a tracker in a white-on-white pixel in their email. Authors, beware!
