Our #NORAD Airshow team had an outstanding week connecting with the aviation community at the 52nd Annual SUN ’n FUN Aerospace Expo in Lakeland, Florida. Throughout the event, the team engaged with attendees at our information booth, spoke with media, and delivered presentations highlighting NORAD’s mission to defend North American airspace, 24/7/365. In conversations with pilots and aviation enthusiasts, the message was clear - respecting NORAD-enforced #FAA Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFR) areas is essential to flight safety. The week wrapped with a live demonstration showcasing how NORAD fighters respond to airspace violations, reinforcing the importance of staying informed when operating near TFR areas. The message was clear➡️Enjoy the Expo. Read your NOTAMs. #FlyInformed #WeHavetheWatch @SunnFunFlyIn

Cruise Missile Defense is critical to homeland defense. During #ArcticEdge26, 🇨🇦CF-18s from the Canadian NORAD Region (CANR) integrated with 🇺🇸F-35s from the Alaskan NORAD Region (ANR) to simulate defense against advanced airborne threats at Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska. Integrated air and missile defense enhances resilience across the Arctic and strengthens our layered defense of North America. #WeHaveTheWatch #StrongerTogether

Reminder to pilots: check for active Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs) before you fly. Multiple violations have been reported today in the restricted airspace near #Miami. Following TFRs helps keep the skies safe and reduces the need for air defense responses. #WeHaveTheWatch @1stAF

NORAD increases posture to support Operation ICE CAMP. The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) is increasing the posture of its forces in Alaska and Canada to support the U.S. Navy’s Operation ICE CAMP 2026. NORAD will be conducting air patrols throughout ICE CAMP 2026 to reinforce the security of the region. NORAD's mission is to ensure no threat approaches North America undetected," said Gen. Gregory M. Guillot, commander, North American Aerospace Defense Command. "That means watching every mile of Arctic sky, sea, and ice with discipline and vigilance and responding when necessary. We have the watch." Operation ICE CAMP is run by the U.S. Navy in conjunction with other military branches, research institutions, and allied nations. It underscores the importance of joint and integrated operations in the Arctic, a region of growing strategic significance. dvidshub.net/news/559616/na… The U.S.-Canadian, dual-nation structure of NORAD represents one of the strongest integrated defense partnerships in the world, with more than six decades of continuous operation. Up close to the homeland defense mission. This week #NORAD commander General Gregory Guillot visited the Louisiana Air National Guard’s 159th Fighter Wing at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base New Orleans. The wing maintains Aerospace Control Alert for NORAD, keeping fighters and crews ready to launch within minutes to defend North American airspace. During his visit, Gen. Guillot met with leaders and Airmen supporting the alert mission and flew backseat in an F-15 piloted by 159th Fighter Wing's Capt. Lau Jackson. #WeHaveTheWatch

NORAD successfully completed Operation GLOBAL GUARDIAN earlier this week. As a U.S. Strategic Command Bomber Task Force transited from the Indo-Pacific into Alaska, through Canada, and into the Continental U.S., NORAD’s Alaskan, Canadian, and Continental U.S. Regions capitalized on the opportunity to execute and coordinate sequential tracking and intercepts of an American  B-52 Stratofortress, acting as a simulated threat to North America. This inter-regional cooperation demonstrates the binational Command’s seamless and layered defense of North America. Shout out to all three of our regions for operating as one team across the continent. Together, we remain ready to defend our homelands from every avenue of approach. 🇨🇦 🇺🇸 #GlobalGuardian #WeHaveTheWatch #StrongerTogether @1stAF @ANRALCOM @RCAFOperations
