Contemporary Christian Music in our services doesn’t just weaken true worship, it replaces it. At the same time, it promotes a style rooted in the very spirit we are called to separate from. When that same music is then highlighted and celebrated on social media, it exposes a contradiction between what is professed and what is practiced.

Just got done preaching in @NPCA_Excellence chapel. I tried to give the students a help I never had growing up. My message was: THE RIGHT RESPONSE WHEN YOU FALL SHORT. I hope I helped.

An Exhortation to Young Believers Let me speak plainly for a moment, especially to young believers. One of the most concerning things I see today is how easily strong conviction is being labeled as immaturity and narcissistic. I hear phrases like, “One day you’ll understand,” or “You’ll grow out of that,” said to young Christians who simply want to obey the Bible as it is written. That kind of talk does not produce spiritual growth, it produces hesitation, fear, and silence. Young people, hear me clearly: If your desire is to obey God, to stand on His Word, and to live with conviction, you are not wrong. You are not naïve. You are not being extreme. You are responding the way God calls every believer to respond. Do not let anyone shame you for taking Scripture seriously. The Bible never teaches that conviction fades with maturity. It teaches that conviction deepens. Paul didn’t tell Timothy to calm down or soften his stand, he told him to “hold fast the form of sound words” and to “endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.” Strong conviction is not pride. Bold obedience is not arrogance. Standing firm is not a lack of love. What you need in your life is not voices telling you to relax your standards, but spiritual leadership that encourages you to obey God without apology. A pastor who isn’t embarrassed by the Bible. A leader who won’t ask you to quiet your convictions for the sake of comfort or acceptance. There will always be people who try to intimidate you into silence by calling your faith “too much.” Don’t believe them. The early church wasn’t built by timid believers. It was built by men and women who feared God more than man. If your heart is to please God, stay there. If your conscience is guided by Scripture, keep following it. And if standing for truth makes you uncomfortable at times, that’s often a sign you’re exactly where you should be. Hold your ground. Stand on the Word. And don’t apologize for obeying God.

It was a pleasent time preaching and teaching @HylesAnderson today. Wonderful singing and an infectious spirit. I was extra blessed to have my kids here, @HSRee084 , @WillTReeves, @PeterIWard, @NPCA_Excellence, @DavidPaulReeves as well as my friend @EricMichigan.
