🚨🇺🇸 ICE HITS NYC IN FIRST TRUMP-ERA IMMIGRATION RAID—AND THEY’RE JUST GETTING STARTED Federal agents swept through NYC before sunrise, rounding up migrants accused of serious crimes like murder, kidnapping, and assault. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem even suited up in an ICE vest for the occasion, calling it a win for public safety. One suspect was a Dominican national wanted for a double homicide. Others faced charges for burglary, extortion, and violent attacks. ICE made over 1,100 arrests nationwide yesterday. Trump has scrapped old restrictions, meaning ICE can now raid churches, courthouses, and other former “safe zones.” It seems Mayor Eric Adams is playing both sides, saying NYC will help with criminal deportations while reassuring immigrants the city is still a “sanctuary.” With ICE ramping up nationwide, expect more raids—and even more political fireworks. The first thing you hear in Washington is that [DOGE'S mission] is impossible. They'll be able to do nothing. And then they're like, well, it doesn't matter because all the money is in entitlements and in the debt and in the military. Then you've got this silly fake-whatever, NPR funding, it just is a rounding error, and it doesn't matter: It's $500 million or $5 billion. Or it's the $40 billion of charging stations, and they build eight charging stations. Or it's the broadband Internet plan that delivered broadband to nobody and cost you $30 billion. So, these boondoggles. What everybody in Washington says is $30 billion is a rounding error on the federal budget. And of course, any taxpayer is like, what the ....? If you're this cavalier about $30 billion, imagine how cavalier you are about $3 trillion. Thirty billion dollars divided by, let's say, 300 million taxpayers is $100 per taxpayer per year. One hundred dollars to an ordinary person working hard every day to make money and provide for their kids is a meal out, it's a trip to the amusement park, it's the ability to buy additional educational materials, it's the ability to have a babysitter, to be able to have a romantic relationship with your wife. There's like a hundred things that that person can do with a hundred dollars that they're not doing because it's going to some bullshit program where the money's being looted out in the form of ridiculousness and graft. The idea that a $30 billion program is not something that is a very important thing to go after is just ...
