Alma Criddle, the youngest daughter of a homesteading family farming east of Brandon, created 132 paper cut-out animals in 1909. According to a biography on the family, "Each paper cow was painted in an exact reproduction of one of the cows of the farm and named accordingly.".

Watched Fancy Dance with Lily Gladstone last night. Really enjoyed it. Was originally worried it was a typical doom and gloom picture about Indigenous life, but it really picked up and had a great ending that didn't, yet did, wrap things up.
