In 4.7, the same phrase gets parsed as authorisation phrased politely, and it goes. Same with “could you check,” “feel free to verify.” When I want it to hold, I now say “don’t search yet, let’s scope first.”

I spent some time testing what that means in practice, and a few tips came out of it. Soft hedges now read as permission. In 4.6, when I wrote “maybe search the web for pricing,” it was often read as me thinking out loud. It would wait.

This is the repugnant character of a man who has spent his entire life expecting others to clean up his mess. A person completely incapable of taking responsibility—even for the smallest gesture. This is precisely what makes him so dangerous and unsuitable as president: Someone who treats everything like dirt and expects his subordinates to clean up after him will treat a country the same way. Without respect, without a sense of responsibility, without any consideration for those who will come after him. This is not the kind of character one wishes upon the president of the United States. This is the character of a spoiled, ruthless egomaniac.

This photo of Earth is EXTRA spectacular for a good reason... let me explain. Most images you see of Earth from space are the daylight side of the Earth, and it's obviously very bright (see my last image), this means stars are too dim to be seen with that bright exposure setting (low ISO, high shutter and / or stopped down aperture). BUT this image taken by the Orion crew looks so incredible because you can see the sun is BEHIND the earth, meaning it's night time on the side of the earth facing the crew in this image. So how do you expose a night time earth from space? Same way you do on Earth! A mixture of opening up the aperture (F4 in this case), cranking the ISO (51,200 here), and using a relatively long exposure (1/4 of a second). We can see the settings used by looking at the exif data from the camera. What this means is our camera is also sensitive enough to see stars in the background of Earth, leading to an extraordinary image!!! GREAT WORK!!! These are the kind of images I've been so excited to see!

We see our home planet as a whole, lit up in spectacular blues and browns. A green aurora even lights up the atmosphere. That's us, together, watching as our astronauts make their journey to the Moon.

Hold on to your sanity tight – there are way too many people out there in the public space who are completely insane, in the most medical sense of the word. So listen – it’s not you who’s gone mad, it’s them. Don’t go along for the ride. You’re not headed in the same direction. I don’t know if it’s the pandemic’s aftereffects, social media algorithms, or Saturn messing around in Libra, but several countries are now being led by people who are, quite frankly, mentally unwell. Don’t try to make sense of their logic or predict their actions – looks like there’s some serious organic brain damage going on there. And heaven forbid you actually do understand them – you’ve got families, jobs, studies, responsibilities

@VasylNestoruk @grntmedia А те, що рівень торгівлі США з росією при Трампі зріс у 2,5 рази при порівнянні з минулим роком? Що з приводу цього?))

Last night, something incredible finally happened. @maddow did what no other news anchor on ANY MAINSTREAM NETWORK thus far has had the courage to do: and laid out how the Trump administration is doing EVERY POSSIBLE THING to assist Vladimir Putin & Russia. The Kremlin OWNS THEM.
