@Variety Guinness was right, Hollywood would be in a much better place if todays actors took his advice and focused on making good entertainment rather than pushing social messaging onto their audiences

Star Wars Timeline (Ben) 🇷🇺🇺🇸
Join me in honoring EU authors who: ▪️Shaped Expanded Universe ▪️Honored G.Lucas' Canon ▪️Kept Star Wars relevant for 40 years ▪️Created universally beloved heroes 1978-2012 were zenith of EU canon that's bolder, richer, and infinitely more compelling than Disney's parody.

Danny’s Hot (And Not-So-Hot) Takes
I think celeb casting really seems to work for the best if the actor fits the character, or if the character is written with a particular actor in mind. The bottom few are some examples of the latter:

I understand the reservations against celebrity voice acting but it's honestly a really cool thing when the actor choice is unconventional or inspired. Like I think it's awesome we were all exposed to a Billy Crystal performance as kids thanks to Monsters Inc

— Interpretó a Frankenstein. 🙌🏽

The Empire Strikes Back is on, and I realized the AT-AT commander on Hoth is the Guy Who Chose Poorly in The Last Crusade. Then my wife tells me that's the same guy who played Grand Maester Pycelle in Game of Thrones. 🤯

I would much rather studios go back to their classic catalog & release their extended cuts, director's cuts, etc instead of constant remakes. We'd get a new insight into the original films, instead of a bloated, inferior, more expensive version with a different cast.

The legendary 2.5+ hour Assembly Cut of Joe Dante's GREMLINS is real, and it just screened in Los Angeles. Here's everything we know about the rough extended cut that star Zach Galligan calls "a total revelation": bloody-disgusting.com/movie/3949430/…

Sylvester Stallone was tired of Hollywood being “anti-society and anti-Christ.” So he decided to do something about it.

Mell Brooks says our whole society has become "stupidly politically correct" and that's why we don't have good comedy now: "We have become stupidly politically correct, which is the death of comedy. It's not good for comedy. Comedy has to walk a thin line, take risks. Comedy is the lecherous little elf whispering in the king's ear, always telling the truth about human behavior." Do you agree with Mel Brooks that political correctness is bad for comedy?

Steven Spielberg says Hollywood needs to stop relying only on franchise IP and start telling more original stories, as he debuts new footage from Disclosure Day. “If all we make is known branded IP, we’re going to run out of gas.” “There is nothing more important than giving the audience visual stories… but we need to tell more original stories.”

We really need to standardize this kind of animation in western media again. Listen I love what we're doing with Bad Guys and Spider-Verse, but DUDE bring back 2d animation on the big screen
