@brianmcc I think everyone is taking the Miyazaki quote out of context -- youtube.com/watch?v=7EvnKY… -- it's his response to being shown a body horror demo from a rigged 3D model using deep learning to figure out how to move across a plane. We have no idea what he thinks abt GPT,etc

@bcantrill Do you happen to remember which talk you start by asking the audience something about the difference between data and behavior, and whether code is one or the other (or both)? Came across it not too long ago but didn’t save the link…

I get this pop-up dozens of times a day every year when core-apps dot com forgets to renew their SSL certificate. I have no way of easily determining which app on my phone is from their platform so I can uninstall it. @Coreapps @jaycoreapps @AppleSupport

@tferriss Zulip: like Slack but open source; can run it yourself. Discord: worth considering, but not encrypted. Matrix/Element: possibly the future. Secure, distributed, I think the French government uses it.

Twitter friends! Can anyone recommend a team messaging app on iOS that’s fast, light, + secure? Not iMessage, Signal, or Telegram but something built for teams and collaboration. Folks shouldn't be able to delete chat histories. What do you recommend besides Slack/Teams? Thanks!

@GitKraken Did the Slack community go away? You still have links in your footer. BTW, getting annoying behavior where sometimes push stalls out; button spins, but nothing happens and nothing is in the logs. Restarting the app fixes it.

@brianmcc I’m a few days behind, but PLEASE fix the audio levels in the IHP episodes you’re bonusing into TRH. Have to pump levels to hear the interview, then get blasted by the ad reads :(((

@BrentO I’ve seen too many bizarre font rendering fails on assorted Microsoft web properties for there not to be an extremely interesting root cause explanation.

When did the Power BI sign-in page change to look like ... this?!? Looks like a phishing site. Tried on Safari & Chrome on Mac.

@keithohara @demc_nyc Maybe the answer is to just stop using the git CLI? I'm a git fanatic and use it approximately never. Bit like judging x86 vs arm based on their assembler dialects when you could just be writing JavaScript, IMO.

@SwiftOnSecurity Is the metaphor here something that is always broken, or something that is broken because a vendor cartel is more profitable when it’s broken?

The thing about “increased error rates” on AWS is it could either be 1/1000 requests on every instance or it could be 1000/1000 requests on one instance. Your cloud isn’t fungible like that.
