Elmo finally pulled my legacy @premiumbusiness checkmark.
To celebrate, I have now (finally) made this account private.
You can find me over at metasocial.com/jesse.

@kevinriggle np. (If you're up for it, you might want to file a ticket at github.com/mastodon/masto… to help those who come after you.)
English

@kevinriggle That's a bad default, but is totally configurable. Click the settings icon on the notifications tab.

@thingskatedid np. jesse@keyboard.io when it becomes relevant.
There's also a discord we and some other folks using gigadevice chips hang out on (ostensibly around our arduino port and platformio support) - It's mostly ARM, but there's a bit of RISC-V - discord.gg/FNCCPthm

@thingskatedid (Also, happy to intro to my Gigadevice reseller and FAE if you need it.)
English

@thingskatedid Heck, if it's anything like the F303, you don't even need a crystal to do full speed USB2.

@rjbs . o O { Will we get to create functions with tick in their names? }
English

Maybe the end of an era as the use of ' (single tick) as a package separator may be on the way out in Perl.

@jamescham It’s fascinating to see which things your phone is ostensibly good at that are still worth carrying purpose-built tools for.
English

@kevinriggle Don’t wonder. Test. I couldn’t get it to pretend to be Adventure or Zork But I could get it to pretend to be Eliza.

@patio11 Oh man. I miss Tokyo coffee culture.
Going to Bear Pond with friends from NY and discovering that the owner/barista's mentor was friends with one of my travel companions was totally mindblowing.
Also, the coffee was truly exceptional.

I assumed that @gideonmann was joking about something @317070 was joking about but I went to chat.openai.com and YIKES!

@caseywest @genehack I absolutely do not mean to diminish your experience or to undercut your venting.
English

@caseywest @genehack Yes, but a single instance I can remember in my adult life vs a constant barrage is going to be qualitatively different.
English

@caseywest @genehack I remember the one time I walked into a business meeting in China and the saleswoman said something along the lines of "You're cute. Are you seeing anyone?" and I just about died.
And as a cishet white dude, I know that 'the one time' for me is...basically daily for many people.
English

@genehack Thank you for asking! There can be a difference, and especially if you're a friend and the comment was made privately (as opposed to in a group).
If you'd like to pay a physical complement in a work place and you aren't confident the context is ok for the receiver: don't!
