There are incredible South Africans working every day to make things better in this great country of ours. I am so lucky that while I get to see the very worst of it, I also get to see the very best of it too. Yesterday I was fortunate to take a tour of the @NSRI's Emergency Operations Centre at their headquarters in Cape Town. The EOC is a control centre with streams from cameras at beaches across the Western Cape. There are operators watching kids swimming and surfers catching waves. They’re constantly monitoring to see if anyone is in distress and needs urgent help. The way they’ve embraced technology is just brilliant.
