THIS IS HORIFFIC Shocking French child abuse scandal: Criminal investigations now span 114 Paris nurseries and schools after children as young as three were allegedly raped, beaten, starved and locked in rooms by staff paid to protect them. The cases cover 84 nursery schools, around 20 primary schools and 10 crèches across all 20 arrondissements of the capital. At Paul-Dubois nursery alone, one youth worker faces 15 formal complaints. At Saint-Dominique nursery, 16 staff members (aged 18-68) were arrested in coordinated raids on 20 May. Paris City Hall has suspended 78 municipal employees, 31 of them on suspicion of sexual violence. At least one monitor is already in pre-trial detention. Paris chief prosecutor Laure Beccuau confirmed three formal judicial investigations have been opened. Mayor Emmanuel Grégoire has apologised and announced a €15.8 million emergency reform package with stricter vetting and inspections.

This is the same judge who helped shape national guidance on prosecuting child sexual offences. When did Britain become so lenient with child abusers? Why do serious offenders with thousands of images and years of offending so often avoid real custodial sentences yet people are regularly jailed for social media posts? We need much tougher sentencing, real accountability from the judiciary, and justice that actually prioritises victims and deters predators. This cannot be acceptable in a civilised country.
