Pep knows, yes Martinelli could have cut off the line better but our RW always presses the Lcb with either the Rb jumping leaving CB with winger or the midfielder jumping like Zubimendi to force wide and cut off central access
City Report@cityreport_

Nico O’Reilly: “Pep did say to me before the game ‘Zubimendi will be man marking you so tight; you’re stronger than him, you’re bigger than him - go and win those headers.’ People always tell me to go run into the box, head the ball, head down. I’ve had a lot of advice on that, so that’s what I try and do.”

@FmCatenaccio The only one in our squad that has it is Eze, some could develop it, most a lack it. We are too insecure. Not to say that showing a TikTok edit is the reason we lost but like these small things just build up the pressure. The team would probably be better of doing an activity.

@NTolleback Majority of the City players and staff have it because they've actually won it, it's the arrogance that they will turn up and bully the opposition.

I don’t how true this is but the one thing that I feel Arsenal and Arteta lacks, is that relaxed feeling of we’ll win no worry. Eze has it, Cherki has it, Haaland has it, Nico o Reilly has it. Even Pep has it. We lack that Ancelotti calmness that we will do it. The last step.

@FmCatenaccio Tactically incredible but from my opinion he is too controlling, and worried about details which affects the team. In these moments we need a Ancelloti type personality that just says, “Boys don’t worry we will win and we party together afterwards” So the players relax.

Arteta is the MOST complete manager in the world, I've literally seen it all.
EBL@EBL2017

It took Pep until the 22nd of March to figure out the best way of playing for his team. By that time, City were already knocked out of the Champions League by an Mbappé-less Madrid. This idea that coaches ALWAYS get it right is nonsense. Less eyes on City. Less pressure. But the broader point centres around Arteta. He is the reason Arsenal are in this position in the first place. He is the reason Arsenal got their highest ever points tally in Premier League history. The reason Arsenal are competing for major titles every season. The reason Arsenal are in the Champions League semi-final for two consecutive seasons. Even though, when he arrived, the club were physically, technically, culturally, and psychologically inept. Be grateful for what you have. And the fact that you are competing in the first place. With a club that has the fourth of fifth biggest wage bill in the league. With a club that plays by the rules. With a club that says 'no' when their coach or director wants a player for several seasons because of financial limitations. With a club that hasn't won the Premier League since 2004. Or a Champions League in their history. Imagine if Arsenal lose the league on goal difference and lose the Champions League final. Should Arteta be sacked? That's what people are discussing. Despite what I've said above. Arteta is one of the best coaches in the world. In fact, he is the most complete in the world. GOOD LUCK replacing him. Similar to when Klopp left Liverpool. The foundations are so special that the next manager may succeed in the short-term, but all the best maintaining what he built over a long period of time. The only way that is possible is by replacing him with another one of the best managers in the world. Wake up. Some people don't know what reality is, even if it slaps them in the face.

Anyone know why Declan Rice always does a knee slide after he’s been tackled?

@EBL2017 Can the environment the tactics bring be a psychological factor to why the execution is not performed?

If you want the fans to give energy, the football must give the fans energy to begin with. They are there to be entertained, they feel the players intent, the players feel it. High volume of risky/brave actions to combine and progress naturally stimulates the players and fans

@pontadelanca10 So tired of football losing its identity, WE HAVE NO OBLIGATION TO WATCH IF WE ARE NOT ENTARTAINED. Yet we see emotionless decisions based on estimated margins everywhere. Imagine they stay, have some rough years, maybe even 3. They will be 22-23 with 12 years to go.

See this, and think yeah maybe we could on paper get better quality, but will we? Is it worth it? Hale End is Arsenal identity, Tony Adams, Wilshere, Saka, Dowman, MLS and Nweneri. These players breed Arsenal, the fans feel it and I’m sure that makes a difference. We Human.

🚨 Arsenal are expected to listen to offer for both Ethan Nwaneri & Myles Lewis-Skelly this summer. Sources indicate the Gunners would look to receive a combined £100m for the pair, and their sales would account for ‘pure profit’. 👋🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 [@SamiMokbel_BBC]

@DJ___129 Football is emotion, family, feelings. Why ruin what made us love the sport for uncertain 3% improvement.( That cannot be measured)

@DJ___129 Totally agree, hate to be a downer but people have no obligation to watch football. We watch it because it’s entertaining, winning should not destroy what made fans watch in the first place. And certainly good football for the eye is also effective, we recognise it.

I get why players and coaches don’t care about the playing style - win by any means etc + they get the medals What confuses me is when fans hold the same view lol Does viewing experience not matter? I really don’t get it because there’s no way you can enjoy watching Arsenal

Janne Andersson talking with Sportbladet about CBs in the modern game. "When I watched Allsvenskan last year I felt like the defending in their own box was not good enough. The type of CB that wins aerial duels, blocks shots, covers for the goalkeeper and makes clearances, that type of CB you see less these days compared to before. On the other side they're very good at starting the attack, bringing the ball down in their own box and all that. It's very good if they can do that too. But first they have to be able to defend. That's my theory. I always say that I want to build my team from the back to the front and from the inside and out. Those teams became the best. You had stability and then you had people further forward that could do different things. The CBs are very important."

@NTolleback @femooafc MLS/Cala always inverts into Midfield when they play; the reason MLS isn't seeing more game-time is also the same reason hincapie is starting more games. Arteta is clearly prioritizing defensive solidity to get Arsenal above the line in the EPL.

What is the difference between the LB and LCM in Arteta’s system? What are their responsibilities and how are they different?

@femooafc One argument for MLS in midfield is that he would in general have a higher/more central position during offensive transitions which definitely would utilise his carrying ability.
