I am unable to accept the absence of Ratan Tata. India’s economy stands on the cusp of a historic leap forward. And Ratan’s life and work have had much to do with our being in this position. Hence, his mentorship and guidance at this point in time would have been invaluable. With him gone, all we can do is to commit to emulating his example. Because he was a businessman for whom financial wealth and success was most useful when it was put to the service of the global community. Goodbye and Godspeed, Mr. T You will not be forgotten. Because Legends never die… Om Shanti 🙏🏽

In his life, and demise, Mr Ratan Tata has moved the nation. I was fortunate to spend time with him, but millions, who have never met him, feel the same grief that I feel today. Such is his impact. From his love for animals to philanthropy, he showed that true progress can only be achieved when we care for those who don’t have the means to take care of themselves. Rest in peace, Mr Tata. Your legacy will continue to live through the institutions you built and values that you embraced.

"On an average, 358 outpatients including 128 non-communicable disease (NCD) patients were treated monthly at an HWC. HWCs were able to cover 31% of the total population’s health need for outpatient care, 26% for hypertension, and 21% for diabetes care. "

This study makes a mess of our Tb diagnostic strategy we currently use- which is symptom based investigation- if 39% patients have no symptoms- where do we start? X ray imaging is less accessible than docs or labs !
R. Prasad@RPrasad12

If over-reliance on smear microscopy is already a problem, 39% subclinical TB cases (where people with active TB don't have symptoms) seen during the TB prevalence survey in Tamil Nadu is a bigger challenge. These people will never be tested but will transmit and infect others

“If patient wanted to be treated by an AYUSH doctor he would have gone to an AYUSH hospital. If patient has come to an allopathic hospital, can the person be taken care of by an AYUSH doctor masquerading as an allopath?” asked a professor in AIIMS, Delhi. timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/many-pvt…

The average direct cost of NCD care for government and citizens put together was substantially higher in case of formal for-profit providers compared with public facilities, even after taking into account the government subsidies to public sector. link.springer.com/article/10.100…

We found that people are willing to use govt facilities for primary health care if the services are relevant, adequately functional, & accessible. People felt that HWCs have improved overall availability of tests, & medicines as well as care for hypertension & diabetes. #CPHC
