@NVRuralHospital
Nevada Rural Hospital Partners (NRHP) is a nonprofit consortium of the 13 Critical Access Hospitals (CAH) in Nevada.

We met with Battle Mountain General Hospital leadership to talk about access to behavioral health care and medical transportation. It’s clear our state needs to be doing better at supporting people in rural communities.

From emergency care to daily practice, health centers across Nevada have counted on the Rural Hospital Flex program to provide for our communities. I'm proud to be working on this bipartisan bill to support rural hospitals and preserve access to health care for Nevadans.

The September issue is out! Read it in print or online at NevadaBusiness.com

Congratulations to the NHA's former Board Chair Mason Van Houweling for his appointment to the American Hospital Association's Board of Trustees. We are grateful for all Mason has done for the NHA and look forward to seeing the amazing work he will do with @ahahospitals.

Humboldt General Hospital provides essential emergency care, obstetric and maternity services, and nursing home care for seniors across Humboldt County. Rural hospitals are vital for our communities, and I will continue to stand up for them in the Senate.

Yesterday, I stopped by Pershing General Hospital to check in with staff and community leaders and talk about how we can work together to make sure rural hospitals like this one have the resources & funding they need. Whether it’s introducing legislation to bring more doctors and nurses to rural communities or fighting back against Medicaid cuts that will take funding away from rural hospitals, I’m always working to make health care accessible for ALL Nevadans.

Today, I was honored to host a ceremonial signing ceremony for the creation of the Nevada Health Authority! The NVHA will ensure access to affordable, reliable health care for all Nevadans. Learn more here: nvha.nv.gov

House Republicans are gearing up to push through their budget bill with the largest cuts to healthcare coverage in U.S. history. While I was in southern Nevada earlier this week, I met with local healthcare providers to hear more about the devastation of these cuts.

Proposed changes to Medicaid brought by House Republicans avoid a true doomsday scenario for Nevada enrollees, but the imposition of work requirements would still likely lead to tens of thousands losing their health insurance.
