🏀On 27th January 2026 we held our very first Girls Development Basketball competition at Ivanhoe School. We had 54 girls over 8 teams enter from 8 schools. A vast majority of whom, accessed a new opportunity for the first time. Well done to all who came along 🏀

Yesterday afternoon, supported by Damon from @ridersbf, our Y5/6 basketball team played a tournament against other schools at Castle Rock as part of the @NWLSSP. They palyed really well and showed fantastic sportsmanship! Well done, everyone!

Yesterday our KS2 Boccia events that took place at Forest Way & @ivanhoe_school. We had 15 teams from 10 schools across the two events.Well done to the winners;Holy Cross,Warren Hills,Ibstock Juniors Winners of the area final will go on to represent NWL at the county finals.

Happy New year! We hope you all had a wonderful break. This half term we have some great events coming up: Boccia, Basketball, Archery, Handball and Gymnastics. We hope you all have a great first week back.

A huge thank you to our Ivanhoe Sports Leaders for all their help with the Y5/6 Sports Hall Athletics last week. They did a fantastic job!

A massive thank you to all those schools that took part in our Active Travel Competition that took place across October.We had 10 schools take part with over 20,000 Active Travel journeys recorded!! We hope you all enjoyed the competition @CHYMLeics

A fantastic Handball festival at Whitwick Coalville Leisure Centre, kindly led by Alexander Themis of the Leicester Bears Handball Club. The children took part in skill stations to learn the basics then moved on to play multiple friendly matches.

🔹Between us here over at the NWLSSP we play/take part in a wide range of sport including: Football, Cricket, Darts and Gaelic football, and this weekend there was some great successes🔹

Our first PE Coordinator meeting of the ,19 PE leads came to discuss various topics coming up over the year ahead. We had presentations from Elaine at Big Moves and Michael at @EveryoneActive It was great to see familiar & new faces & look forward to the year ahead!
