@SportsSturm enjoyed listening to the youth sports segment. The vast amount of burnout injuries I’ve seen from travel select sports and sports specialization has markedly increased in my practice. Conversations with parents on this topic is often difficult

Last night I was presented the game ball during the @RiceMBB game on behalf of @MethodistHosp. Proud to be a part of these great organizations and our partnership!

@barstoolsports This man is a legend. I simply pace the sideline, spot him, hold my hand out and politely ask, then granted a watermelon sour patch. Then we win. Go Owls!

@Matt_Stepp817 Really is a shame, not the same Ticket I've been listening to since high school and that I continue to listen to everyday to/from work in Houston. But the Musers are always great and Corby/Bob still engaging. Once they're gone though, not sure how much longer I'm in.

The Ticket's ratings are down quite a bit..its almost as corporate thought that pissing off your listeners by treating beloved employees poorly would actually work. I've always loved the Ticket but I definitely listen much less these days..Glad Dan and Jake can now move on

@Matt_Stepp817 Really not good. This trend in youth sports is pretty concerning and will only increase the risk of burnout and injuries.

jamanetwork.com/journals/jamac… “In this study, these data do not support universal restriction of vigorous exercise for individuals with HCM.” Will be interesting to see what we interpret from these findings moving forward

Missed #amssm2023 for the first time since 2014 due to coaching son’s Little League playoff game. Worth it to capture this moment! Still streaming virtually from home and learning a lot from fellow physicians to enhance my skills

In 2016 I covered the NCAA Final Four during Sports Medicine fellowship. 7 years in practice and 2 kids later, working the 2023 Final Four with more experience and gray hair. Living the dream

@peet2 FDA cleared in this case means it's safe to wear, but does not necessarily reflect its efficacy. Not saying it doesn't work, we just don't know if it does since the data is limited

🤨 the thing on Tony Pollard’s neck that Gordo asked @ is the “Q-Collar” and might be one of the more unstable FDA approved devices I can ever recall - designed to increase blood pressure in the brain, therefore “reducing movement” - Pollard is a brand ambassador.

@gordonkeith @QCollarOfficial There's really no data to show that it does. The concept is interesting, it compresses the jugular vein to increase intracranial pressure, which was studied in woodpeckers on why they don't have repetitive microtrauma injuries to their brains. But nothing known on humans yet
