Right I’ve been out all day, but here are my thoughts on the Omari Kellyman transfer: Omari is a good player, I want that to be clear, & I will 100% support him if he joins, as I do with every player, but he just isn’t £20m. He is at most like £8m. You couple that with the fact he’s a left footed AM, when we have Palmer & Paez & also that touchline wingers on both sides are much more important purchases for us, it’s just not good imo. Also, the fact that he’s going to be a ‘first-team signing’, with all due respect, what has he done to deserve that? People will think this doesn’t matter but it just sets the wrong precedent for the 100th time. He got subbed off at half time against our U21s a couple months ago with Kiano Dyer running rings around him, it just makes no sense. And you say Villa and Chelsea have helped each other out with PSR by inflating the valuation, but Maatsen was bought for £37.5m. His theoretical valuation was his release clause, so £35m & for a player who performed as he did at Dortmund, got to a UCL final, that was a cheap release clause. £37.5m is a good deal. Even then, if you take £35m as his valuation, Villa have overpaid by 7%. Then if you look at Kellyman, his value if I’m being VERY kind is £10m, so we have overpaid by 100%. Doesn’t add up at all
