@VitalVegas (2) I also feel Luxor badly needs to refresh its restaurant portfolio. That’s one area where the resort is lacking significantly. Aurora is a cool lounge, but that’s about it in terms of lounges as well.

MGM Resorts CEO and President Bill Hornbuckle informed staffers today Luxor is getting a new atrium light show to be unveiled in the summer of 2027. Another positive step in addressing Sin City’s spectacle problem.

@VitalVegas Very smart decision. PLAY Playground was definitely a step in the right direction in its own right, but Luxor is still missing something and much of the ground level can’t help but feel underutilized. Can’t wait for specifics.

@LasVegasLocally I can’t stress this enough: not every piece of pizza, burger, steak, etc. on the Strip is made or valued equal. Much of whether something is good or poor value comes down to how it was made, food quality, experience, service, etc.

@VitalVegas I still call it Twitter myself. 🦜 I still think Musk was preparing and scraping a line when he thought up the platform’s current logo. Even then it doesn’t stand a remote chance to the blue bird.

@VitalVegas Hopefully as Phase II eventually comes into fruition, the casino develops more of an identity and moxie. Unfortunately in its current state it’s the personification of bland 2020s beige corporate minimalism to me. Not impressed with Cadence at all presently.

@VitalVegas (2) Also: the food quality at Bellagio’s buffet has been mediocre to put it mildly for quite some time now. The variety of offerings there is admittedly decent, I’ll give them that……….but the food caliber is nowhere close to what you expect Bellagio to deliver.

@mayhem357_mark @VitalVegas (2) I don’t see Excalibur’s surviving, though. Not under an operator like MGM Resorts International who already have it under gravely limited hours of operation as is.

@NadiaLockheart @VitalVegas I can see the high cost buffets sticking around like a wicked spoon, Wynn and Bacchanal but no low cost ones on strip by design.

@mayhem357_mark @VitalVegas The exception to that rule in my eyes is Circus Circus’ buffet. That one obviously has well below-average food quality (as well as limited variety), but the casino knows its clientele and thus can effectively justify continuing its operation.

@VitalVegas I do agree. That said, Excalibur’s already has quite limited hours of operation (it’s essentially breakfast-oriented with a little lunch), and if I recall correctly are not even open for breakfast seven days a week.

@SkylarJameson1 @VitalVegas I agree. It’s just a matter of preference mind you, but I personally don’t like the feeling of bloat after eating too much on vacation. I like longer, more social and experiential meals where you can properly digest and provide sustenance on trips.

@VitalVegas I’ve been critical of many of the cut backs at casinos. Losing the buffets isn’t one of them. The few times I went stuffed my face with mediocre food just to get my monies worth..

@VitalVegas My favorite is Wynn’s, but I get the cases made for either one. ☺️

@NadiaLockheart Bacchanal at Caesars is the best in Las Vegas.
