No Joke: the Chair of the UN panel that will rule on the complaint against Francesca Albanese for violating the UN Code of Conduct is George Katrougalos — a major defender of both Hamas and Albanese.
In 2025, Katrougalos:
🇨🇳 took $100,000 from China
🇨🇳 promoted Xi Jinping's book

On behalf of the CC of @UN_SPExperts, I congratulate Francesca Albanese on her removal from the US sanctions list. All similar measures targeting international judges or experts blatantly violate international law and should be immediately repealed. @FranceskAlbs

"J Street does incalculable amount of damage to the interests of Israel," Israeli Amb. Yechiel Leiter said at the Re-Charging Reform Judaism conference, expanding on his previous critique of the liberal advocacy group.

Israel is the most free and diverse country in the entire region.
You don’t have to take my word for it. Talk to Israeli Arabs, as I do when I visit Israel, and they will tell you that their socioeconomic mobility, health, life expectancy, and child mortality rates are all better than they would be in any of the 22 Arab countries in the Middle East—or, for that matter, in any of the 57 Muslim-majority countries in the world.
Israel is a country of 10 million people, 21% of whom—2.1 million people—are Arab Muslims who share in the same free commercial, civil, and political rights as their Jewish neighbors.
There is apartheid being practiced all over the Middle East today. Think for example, of how inconceivable it would be to have a Jewish justice on the Supreme Court in Tehran, or a Jewish general in Damascus, or Jewish lawyers, doctors, or judges in Ramallah or Gaza City. These things are absurd even to consider.
But there are Arab Muslim Supreme Court justices in Israel. There are Arab Muslim and Druze and Christian judges, lawyers, and doctors all over the country. There are four major Arab political parties in the Knesset in Israel, who by the way, were part of the governing coalition of the country just four years ago in 2022.
If Israel's practicing apartheid, it's doing a real bad job of it.

.@NYCMayor @ZohranKMamdani posted a Nakba Day video centered on Inea Bushnaq, an alleged “Nakba survivor.” But her family’s actual story undercuts the narrative his video is trying to tell.
Bushnaq’s grandparents were Muslim Bosnians who moved from Europe to Ottoman Syria in the late 1800s. Her family later lived in Tulkarem, which came under Jordanian control after 1948, not Israeli control. Her father then chose to return to England.
The video also features the famous “Visit Palestine” poster, which was designed in 1936 by Austrian-Jewish refugee Franz Kraus in Tel Aviv to promote travel to the Holy Land and support Zionist return.
The issue isn’t Mamdani commemorating Palestinian displacement. It’s that he uses selective history to erase key context: the Arab war against Israel in 1948, the Arabs who stayed and became Israeli citizens, and the Jews displaced from Arab countries after Israel’s founding. The result is a distorted narrative that casts Israel as the ultimate villain and Palestinians as the ultimate victims, creating a climate where violence against Jews is justified.

Poweful words by Lord @EricPickles, speaking in the House of Lords:
"The term Zionist is often used in ways that enable the collective targeting of Jews while maintaining a veneer of legitimacy. This is not robust debate, it is modern antisemitism".

This day in Israel history, May 12, 1948, US warns Israel not to declare a state.
Moshe Shertok (later Sharett, 1st FM of Israel) meets with U.S. Secretary of State George Marshall, just two days before the expiration of the British Mandate.
Marshal warned Shertok that if the Jews declared independence and were subsequently attacked by five Arab armies, they should not count on the United States for military aid if they found themselves on the brink of defeat. Marshall urged Shertok to accept a ceasefire and a delay in the declaration of independence to avoid a full-scale war.
Shertok’s Response: The Jewish people had waited 2,000 years for this moment and could not delay.
Shertok flew back to Tel Aviv immediately after this meeting. His report on the American position was a critical piece of the internal debate within the People's Administration (Minhelet HaAm) on May 12–13, which ultimately led to the vote to proceed with the declaration of the State on May 14.

Antizionism has nothing to do with "what Israel is doing". Antizionism, or my preferred term Zionophobia, is not a critique of behavior, but a rejection of being. As to Israel's behavior, my dear Zionophobes, give us a day of normalcy and we will show you what a good behavior looks like. @ezraklein @admcrlsn @adam_louis52328 @LekhtNaya @AndrewPessin @UserrrNamezzz @AkaLazarus

For introductory material on the difference between statistical and causal thinking I usually recommend the @Bookofwhy bayes.cs.ucla.edu/WHY/
or PRIMER bayes.cs.ucla.edu/PRIMER/
I wish I could recommend primers by other authors -- if anyone knows of any, I'd amplify.
Javier Martinez A.@JavierMarAlc
@yudapearl Professor, what would be an introductory course/book that you could recommend on to understand the differences? Thanks in advance🙏🏽
