POV: You’re part of the team responding to a mass casualty incident. On March 28, NAIT’s School of Health and Life Sciences and the Centre for Advanced Medical Simulation (CAMS) hosted our third annual Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) Simulation, bringing 118 learners from NAIT, SAIT, the University of Alberta, the University of Calgary, and NorQuest together for a full-scale, pre-clinical, interprofessional emergency response experience for students. This POV-style video captures what our students practice in real time: communication across disciplines, patient handoffs, role clarity, and calm decision-making under pressure, because preparation is built long before an emergency happens. An incredible week with Chef Alex Kim. The #TopChefCanada runner-up showcased a jaw-dropping menu to cap off his residency. But the journey was just as savoury. Our students benefited from hands‑on learning, mentorship, and the chance to learn from one of Canada’s most respected culinary talents. We’re excited to announce a significant milestone for NAIT with the Alberta Budget 2026 providing the funding needed to begin construction of the Advanced Skills Centre (ASC). As we move into this new phase, we are pleased to welcome @_TimCartmell as Associate Vice President, Major Capital Projects. Tim brings a wealth of experience from his roles in municipal and provincial government, including eight years as an Edmonton city councillor and his work with the Government of Alberta’s Treasury Board. His background in engineering and capital project leadership will be invaluable as we deliver the ASC and align our capital planning with NAIT’s long-term vision.
