We are outraged to learn that Canada has denied entry to officials from the Palestine Football Association ahead of FIFA pre-World Cup meetings in Vancouver. Vigil for Canadian Killed by Israeli Strike in Lebanon
Hassan Haider is the first Canadian killed by Israeli strikes in the latest bombing of Lebanon.
He was killed while trying to rescue the wounded.
He leaves behind five children.
A vigil will be held in his honour today in Windsor, Ontario.

This is vile. @BellMediaPR, through Astral, is running straight-up pro-Israel propaganda at Spadina and Wellington in Toronto.
This billboard takes the symbol of a state drenched in blood and repackages it as neighbourliness, belonging, and Canadian pride. That is not accidental. It is doing very specific political work.
It conflates Judaism with Israel so that criticism of a violent state can be smeared as hostility to Jews.
It launders support for Israel through the language of multicultural respectability and civic belonging.

I almost died giving birth to our daughter.
Forty-two hours of labor. Emergency C-section. I remember the cold of the operating room and the way the doctors wouldn’t meet my eyes. They said if we had waited another hour, one of us wouldn’t have made it.
I woke up stitched, shaking, numb from the chest down.
He didn’t hold my hand. He didn’t cry. He just asked the doctor if the scar would be “permanent.”
When we got home, I could barely walk. I couldn’t laugh without pain shooting through my stomach. I needed help sitting up. He complained that the house was messy. Said maternity leave wasn’t a vacation.
Two weeks postpartum, he stood over me while I was trying to latch the baby and said, “You know women are supposed to give birth naturally. My mom did.”
I thought he was joking.
He wasn’t.
One night I overheard him on the phone with his brother saying, “She didn’t even give birth properly. They just cut her open.”
Cut her open.
Like I wasn’t split in half to bring his child into this world.
When I finally looked at my scar in the mirror, still swollen and purple, I didn’t see weakness. I saw survival. But every time he looked at me, I saw disappointment.
Then it got worse.
He stopped touching me. Started going to the gym every night. Said he “needed a woman who takes care of herself.” I was still bleeding. Still leaking milk. Still waking up every two hours.
One evening he tossed a waist trainer onto the bed and said, “You should start fixing it before it’s too late.”
I asked him what “it” was.
He pointed at my stomach.
I slept in the nursery that night. Not because the baby cried. Because I did.
Now he tells people I’ve “changed” since having the baby. That I’m emotional. That I don’t try anymore.
I almost died. I gave him a daughter. I carry a scar that aches when it rains.
And somehow I’m the one who failed.
I don’t know who I married. I don’t know how to leave. But I know this can’t be what love looks like.

This soldier used me as a human shield during the attack on Kamal Adwan Hospital On October 25, 2024, in Jabalia camp northern #Gaza. He forced me at gunpoint to film a building next to the hospital. I will never forget his words when he told me he would not send the dog to check if the building was empty of fighters, and he would send me instead

They demolished thousands of homes in Gaza If there is any field commander people should know by name, an officer with deep personal involvement in this genocide, second only perhaps to Maj. Nikolai Ashurov of the paramedics massacre, it is this man. I am not making allegations. These are established facts. I studied these officers more deeply than anything else in the past years Boaz Tamam is the deputy battalion commander of the 9th Battalion. He was injured and losing a leg in Lebanon in the past days by Hezbollah, yet remains as genocidal as he ever was, a bloodthirsty commander. Many do not know the full extent of what he led, though he is better known internally for his former role in 2024, when he commanded the Raiders Company within the Tzabar Battalion. He was also involved in the raid on Al-Awda Hospital, where the blessed Surgeon Dr. Adnan Al-Bursh was abducted and later tortured to death in prison. He was one of the direct field commanders responsible for the slaughter of dozens of people in Kamal Adwan Hospital on October 25, 2025. He was also one of the commanders responsible in the killing of 10 Palestinians trying to flee Jabalia on November 25, 2025. He was involved in the killing of 33 Palestinians at Awni Al-Harthani School in Jabalia on November 27, 2024. He was also involved in the killing of 60 Palestinians at Khalil Al-Weida School in Beit Hanoun on December 15, 2025. And in the burning of school compounds such as Hamad bin Khalifa, Aleppo School, and Kuwait School in Jabalia. I interviewed one of his soldiers, who told me that he was ordered the destruction of neighborhoods so that Palestinians would have nothing to return to. He personally—yes, personally, with his own face visible—commanded the use of multiple civilians (some are dead) as human shields in Jabalia. I do not cherish violence at all. period, no matter who it is directed at. But after 2.5 years of everything in Gaza, I will make an exception. This man is a legitimate military target and has now tasted his own medicine. A truly despicable person, whose own hands are soaked in the blood of so many innocents.
