@EBPSPrincipal I’m not aware of my union arranging meeting to gather members thoughts? Surely if the majority of members of INTO and NASUWT voted no it should still be a no. The ‘revised’ offer is weak to say the least

@EBPSPrincipal Seven months to conduct a review?! How many reviews have been carried out without any effective change as a result. Whatever happened to the Baker Tilly review of EA? I have zero confidence in this offer that still sees teachers paid the least in the UK.

Is there a cast iron commitment to accept the findings of any such Independent Review? Only 3 members? We all know what CAN happen to Independent Review reports: remember Bengoa?

EXCLUSIVE The Department of Education is facing calls for full transparency after £710,000 was awarded to a school in Derry following a private meeting with DUP ministers — despite it not making a direct application for the money. (READ ON 🧵) belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/education…

@NAHT_NI Workload, pay parity with colleagues in the rest of the UK and principal release in statutory nursery schools. Three issues that are never resolved. Just lots of lip service.

In line with the agreed timeframe, the Minister has reiterated his commitment to make an appropriate pay offer in January. This is what we have been anticipating and working towards and we will engage constructively to have this delivered for members within this timeframe.

In an ideal world, NI schools would be assured of 3 years sufficient funding to fund their 3 year School Dev Plans. Instead, we have worthless 3-Year financial plans & annual pay disputes. Teachers in NI vote to take strike action bbc.com/news/articles/…

Huge backload in road repairs; raw sewerage pouring into Belfast Lough; can’t afford pay parity for teachers; worst waiting lists for hospital treatment; new transport hub but chronic traffic jams in Belfast; water system restricting house-building. What’s actually working in NI?

@oasis @TicketmasterUK @Twickets Sorry but the whole ticket sale was an utter fiasco. Please think about your involvement with #Ticketmaster in future. They're ripping people off left, right and centre. New dates please, and ideally with a different & better ticket provider. Cheers 🍻

FYI- it is difficult to shut your front door when a man that you do not know and have never met is on top of you and battering you. I described this in court, it’s public record. Male defence solicitors are the epicentre of misogyny.

@NAHT_NI @paulgivan We are full time teachers as well as DTs and SENCOs. When exactly are we supposed to do our Principal work? More unpaid overtime?

@BBCNewsNI Disappointing headline but not surprised. Blaming schools. Instead, ask why they have said no. This does not put learners first but the system first and so boxes can be ticked. Pupils need right specialist support/resources. EA saw this coming.

@BBCNewsNI A headline-grabbing, sweeping statement by BBC which only scratches the surface. There are many good reasons why these schools decline the inadequate offer.

@jac_wac @Education_NI We all work hard in the public sector if teachers are getting 23% how do they justify not paying everyone else in the public sector the same. Especially professionals saving lives

Good news for everyone or just NQTs? Pay parity at all levels is deserved. Why should an M4 teacher or UPS3 teacher be paid less than their English counterpart? Surely we haven’t gone this far with ASOS & actual strikes, just to stop now for this? #ltnivntnpg5k6x0fud9" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">m.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/education…

@NAHT_NI Really interested to see how it looks for leaders, given higher tax brackets & given that we have carried every human & financial deficit. Wondering what happens in coming years - are incremental & in-year increases secured in lines with inflation, or back to ASOS in September?

Our NI President @Ronan_Sharkey is addressing members at #NASUWTNICONF24 He told them: "The gap between what we earn and what it takes to survive is widening by the day. We cannot stand idly by while our teachers, school leaders and lecturers are left behind their counterparts."
